It's legitimately exciting waiting for Friday morning announcements again. They've just been hitting it out of the park as of late. I can't wait to see what's next! /Jinx

I have no interest in that, but if it's true it would be HUGE.

There is no basis to why I posted that image.. Just wishful thinking. If it's some shit DLC announced tomorrow, please don't come to lynch me.

I'm on the second tier of Pro Guitar Career goals, going through the first of the chord lessons. I made it through 4 of the 8 lessons last night before my fingers gave out. I'll be continuing my education tonight. :)

I really like how the lessons are structured. Learning to play individual notes is a good warmup, and then they move you up to the two-finger chords. It's definitely a challenge, but it's also supremely rewarding when you actually hit the transitions going up and down the neck or back and forth across the different strings.

I'm just not getting the chords yet - I can scrape my way through the lessons, but once I actually get into a song and a bar starts heading down the lane....it's over. :brickwl2:

So I've mostly been playing pro bass so far - hardly any chords, and it's helping me get the feel for mapping numbers on the screen to positions on the neck. But I'm going to have to get a bunch of practice to get to two notes at the same time, apparently.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but last week hmxhenry said that Metallica is not on their release schedule for the foreseeable future. Linky Link

Personally, I think it would be interesting to know how far out they actually plan DLC and how fluid it is in terms of swapping out songs and song packs for others week to week. Obviously, that's probably information they don't like to share, but it still would be fun to know. I don't know if I've ever read an interview in which the interviewer asked that question.

I'd also like to know the actual story as to GH "exclusives." To this day, it's curious that all of these GH bands that aren't actually "exclusive" have yet to appear on RB in any major way. I was bummed that with all of the press Rigopulos did last week this topic never really came up. Probably not all that interesting to non-RB diehards, maybe.

It could just be a matter of the band not seeing any discernible benefit from one game (especially the one with the brand recognition) so why bother with another, type thing.

Yeah, I think it'll be a while before I'll be able to just jump into a song and play it. Fortunately, you can do the lessons for each song where it breaks it down into sections that you can practice over and over. Seems like that would be the way to go.

Odds of St. Patrick's Day themed DLC this week or next? Would love some more Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly.

Yeah, that certainly makes sense.

Also, my guess is that even in the heyday of music game mania, many big time bands probably had limited understanding of the genre and two competing franchises. I'd assume GH had the name recognition to them and without further education, they'd just go with that.

How that changed with RB's Viacom connection and just plain old time passing is not something I would claim to understand. (Although the RB folks like to say that the MTV connection paid big dividends and helped them get access to musicians.)

Frankly, the most interesting aspect (to me, anyway) of the RB franchise, licensing and courting musical acts for the game, seems to be the most elusive in terms of concrete information. Very hush hush stuff.

Speaking of Viacom, am I the only one terribly bummed that we won't be seeing as much Nickelodeon and Comedy Central tie-ins as before?

I'd like more Thin Lizzy too.

I think the Dropkick Murphys just put out a new album this week, so that would be opportune timing. Given the recent themed Valentine's Day release, some St. Patty's songs seem reasonable.

Green Day Pack 1 and Social D's "Bad Luck" will be on sale next week for the XBox Saint Patrick's Day Sale. Why they didn't put the one Dropkick Murphy's song in there is beyond me.

Flogging Molly have a new album coming out at the end of May and already released one single from it. I wouldn't be shocked to see their new stuff either.

I'd kill for some "Swagger" songs. Or maybe, dare I ask, some Pogues?

I would <3 to have Pogues more than the others even.

My desire would be: Pogues > Flogging Molly > Gaelic Storm > Dropkick Murphys
