I'm not defending the act at all. I think it's kinda silly to have every pack available as singles for 3+ years and then not do it with this.

I just remember reading somewhere that they'll be available as singles after this first week promotion.

And that's fine, it's just after the coincidental October rebate. That's really why I'm so torn ;)

I'll keep listening to the other 3 (Peace Frog, The Crystal Ship, and Soul Kitchen) and try to convince myself to just fuckin' do it.

I haven't spent a lot of time with the last album (Are You Experienced?), but I can probably recommend some tonight. I can say I hated the live version of Fire, it was way too frantic. There was also another one off of the latest album I didn't like.

From what I've sampled, I think Axis was a better drums album, almost every song was a lot of fun, although some are a bit too tough for me.

That was part of my concern... that some of the live tracks would just be a mess and just not fun to play. Any input would be appreciated. I've been waiting to plunk down some PSN dollars for some Hendrix DLC but I can't decide which songs to get.

The only DLC that doesn't transfer is the stuff that came out on (I think9/15/09). Dinosaur Jr., Tenacious D, Anvil, and The Guess Who. This is due to a flag in the metadata accidentally being set to 0 instead of 1. This will be fixed.

Definitely not the case here (PS3 if that matters). As mentioned, neither Hier Kommt Alex by Die Toten Hosen, nor Rock n Roll Star by Oasis show up in RB3 for me, or in the music store accessed via the RB3 disc. Possibly another glitch?

Edited to add: checked to find both Guess Who and Tenacious D songs from 9/15/09 transferred over fine.

My friends and I picked up the game at our local Best Buy which was open until midnight. Only about 4 people showed up for Rock Band 3 and the Keyboard. We got it home and played until 4 in the morning. Bohemian Rhapsody was such an epic closer! This game is great.

I don't see those on my side either.. Guess there's more than just those ones. Weird.

Launch day of RB3 and the RockBand website is down? Somebody dropped the ball bigtime :(
I mean it's not like they had any notice of the date or anything...

It sure would be nice if the RB forums were up so that we could ask about these mysteriously missing songs, only to have the HMX folks ignore us and then post an answer next week.

Because it's not a PSN code, it's a Harmonix code. This is why I said you do it through the game. Don't enter the dashes.

I know - my point was, right now when you select redeem code in game, it brings up the standard PSN 12-digit code entry interface. I'm not sure how that's going to change just because the store gets updated.

The 360 version brings up the standard on-screen keyboard to input a code, but the export code is only 15 digits and Live codes are 25. Just because it uses the same API calls doesn't mean you're actually going through the PSN.

I am betting that like with a lot of codes now a days you have to go to the website, either gamestop.com or rockband.com somewhere and put it in there, pick your platform and then it generates a code dependant on your platform.

Here's the instructions if they didn't give them to you

http://www.gamestop.com/gs/ravecode/

it appears that you should be able to redeem in game, maybe you should call gamestop.

Harmonix hasn't saying anything about anything. They've abandoned us.

Had to enter my code like 5 times to get it to work.

So far not immediately impressed by the menu system, maybe I just need to get used to it.

Shagrath 10-26-10 02:03 PM

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Menus are really awesome once you get used to them. Way easier to find stuff as compared to RB2, especially when you've got a huge library.
