Sorry we are not all 60 year olds playing Rock Band listening to Elton John :) Some of us are in our 20's and want fun, recent music to play from bands that were not released only on vinyl.

I agree that it's nice to have all those exclusive artists and stuff in RB3, however some diversity from the past decade or two would be nice for the rest of us.

I'm in my 20's and would rather slit my wrists than listen to Blink 182, Paramore, or Sublime (a ba nd someone else mentioned). I'm currently downloading London Calling and the David Bowie pack so all you naysayers can suck it!

Also, I'm surprised no one has ever thought to suggest one of my favorite 90's bands, Live. Maybe they're too obscure for this place.

How about full album releases of Rotting Pinata or Motorcade of Generosity?

What's the story behind the dubbed voice? Did someone do it as a joke on the already bad original version? I wanna see the person who sang the version you posted strictly out of morbid curiosity. It's like Buffalo Bill in a child voice. Creepy man.

They just slowed it down is all.

NOW STFU ABOUT LIVE (unless we're talking Pain Lies by the Riverside or really just about anything else from Mental Jewelry) AND BRING ME STABBING WESTWARD.

And I really hope you're joking about nobody mentioning Live. You're joking right?

And, btw, the 90's sucked.

Someone who just got laid off from HMX said it will be announced on Friday. This was from one of the QA people.

Oh yeah.. HMX just laid off 12%+ of their staff.

EDIT: Here's the link.. http://www.gamingtrend.com/forums/in...2797#msg762797

But in actuality, you're just supposed to believe what I say when it comes to Rock Band. When have I steered you wrong?

Haha, I wasn't questioning it. I just wanted more info. Wasn't sure if it would be next week or just in the future.

Paradise By The Dashboard Light is one of my favorite songs, makes me crack up every time it get's to the "Now I'm praying for the end of time" section. Can't wait to do the Play by Play.

You'd think with as buggy as Rock Band 3 turned out, QA would be pretty high on their list of people to not gut any further. Didn't QA take the biggest hit with the previous round of layoffs too?

pinata242 02-07-11 01:41 PM

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Maybe their problem is the lack of professionalism in the QA department? I mean, Chaz made the first cut!

Why even need QA? Just release a buggy as shit game and let the consumers tell you what's wrong with it and fix it? Then you don't have to pay someone to do it, and those people in QA obviously don't do a good job (at least from what we can see).

QA is always the redheaded stepchild in a company.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

It's this kind of stuff that a company needs to re-focus anyway. It sucks that people are losing their jobs, but the writing has been on the wall for a while now. Time to put your head down and produce if this is a company you really love and want to work for.

Not sure if you're being 100% serious here - but QA is a lot of time handcuffed, and can't do much. They can report something as a bug, but it's ultimately up to the Uppers to triage and determine what is, or isn't worth fixing in a release.

I don't have a lot of inside knowledge of that, but there is this one guy I play Red Faction: Guerrilla with and he worked with Volition in the QA department on the game. Every time he bitches about something, I point to the shitty QA the game had and he'll tell stories about how they'd submit bugs or balance issues and they'd be ignored.

Gotta be a great job.

MEAT LOAF!!!

I believe that was one of my 3 picks when we were guessing the RB3 set. Of course pinata could check that and call bullshit if I'm remembering wrong.

Or you could not be so lazy and check the 3rd post.

And you remember...
Spoiler:
incorrectly. It was Suprmallet who picked this song as his 3rd. He finished tied for 19th and you finished tied for 11th.
