I will be buying and playing the shit out of that album. One of the best ever recorded in rock and roll history.
I'm actually a little shocked that Harmonix isn't putting out an "RB3 version" of "Train in Vain" with this DLC. |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
There are some keyboards (and when there aren't any, the harmonica part could've been charted), but the song doesn't seem to have much in the way of harmonies. But then again, Harmonix put out an RB3 version of "We Will Rock You"* when they could've exerted that effort on one of the many keyboard/harmony-heavy Queen songs that haven't appeared in the game yet.
*though I do realize that first appeared on Lego RB and not as DLC, so less people would own that song the first time around. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
New patch went up today. No details on what exactly is in it yet, but apparently the DLC that was inaccessible is back. Fingers crossed that they finally fixed the Squeal of Death with the PS3 keys.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I believe the keys thing was fixed..
Also from what I've seen/heard: Audition mode for RBN2.0 Breakneck speed in practice mode Missing songs (Anvil, Dinosaur Jr, Tenacious D, Guess Who.. Still missing Die Toten Housen and that one Oasis song) Pro guitar sorting is fixed (DLC used to all go under Warmup) Mustang and keyboard can now use bass pedal to activate Overdrive |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I saw this last night for the first time and I think it should open the RBN2.0 store:

For what it's worth, the dream of the 90's is also alive in my house.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Here's the official changelog.
GAMEPLAY CHANGES The audio distortion (also referred to as a buzz, hiss, or squawk) that some PS3 Keyboard players experienced has been addressed. For users experiencing trouble deploying Vocal Overdrive in certain audio setups, OD can now be deployed using the Back button on the controller. NOTE: this only works while in a valid Overdrive deploy section. Overdrive can now be deployed using a Pedal with both the Mustang Pro Guitar and the Keyboard peripherals. Scoring is disabled after a song has been paused multiple times (this prevent players from artificially inflating scores using the pause function). The translucency of the track surface has been adjusted to make note gems are easier to see against the venue backgrounds. Based on fan feedback, limited functionality for the Stage kit has been added to Rock Band 3. Please note that this 3rd-party peripheral is no longer officially supported, so we cannot guarantee full functionality with every file format (RB3, Pro-DLC), but basic functions should be reenabled. ONLINE CHANGES PS3 Voice Chat not properly working with headsets has been remedied. Audio no longer distorts for remote players when whammying sustains in an online session. To prevent blank tracks from appearing in online multiplayer, all members in an online multiplayer band must own the Pro upgrades to play a song with DLC pro upgrades. MUSIC LIBRARY AND STORE CHANGES Pro Guitar songs now sort themselves into the correct difficulty tiers. Pro upgrade availability will now be more accurately reflected in the Music Store. The following songs are now correctly appearing in the Music Library. Anvil - 666 Anvil - Metal on Metal Anvil - This is Thirteen Dinosaur Jr - Pick Me Up Dinosaur Jr - The Wagon Guess Who, The - Hand Me Down World Guess Who, The - No Time Tenacious D - Rock Your Socks Avenged Sevenfold – Afterlife PRACTICE MODE CHANGES An issue that prevented holding sustain notes on keys in the trainers has been addressed Breakneck Speed now works in Practice Mode. CRASH FIXES Fixed a Character Creator crash related to a particular eyebrow asset or the generation of a random character. Fixed assorted minor crashes, as well as minor scoring and text bugs. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Can't wait to see the new, reduced translucency
Stage kit support  |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
pretty good patch. Most of my complaints covered (that I could reasonably expect them to actually fix), aside from BNS being settable individually.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Wow, stage kit functionality is back? I'm going to have to test it out.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
That's pretty cool that they added that back in.
Whoa, just caught that the pedal now activates the Mustang OD. Awesome. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Stage Kit!!
I was playing a bit last night and wondering if they would ever fix that. Also huge thumbs up to making the "runway" darker so seeing the gems is easier. This was my #1 problem with the game. |
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Stage Kit return is fantastic. Anyone try it with RB3 DLC yet?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Man, I bought Rock Band 3 on launch and it still hasn't found its way into my 360 :(
|
Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I hope the "assorted minor crashes" fix includes when it randomly resets your PS3 back to the XMB. That is frustrating as hell, especially when it happens 45 songs into an endless setlist like it did to me.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I *ALMOST* threw out my Stage Kit last Monday, and changed my mind at the last minute. So glad I did.

I've seen people claim it's not as active as it once was but I think their memories are failing them. I played one song last night (can't remember which one, though I know it was an RB3 song) that almost game me a seizure from all the strobing. They'd have to go out of their way to nerf Stage Kit support because it's all built into the lighting/rumble data and I find it pretty hard to believe that they'd do that but I find it entirely believable that people would incorrectly remember it being more active just because they haven't used it in 3 months, especially when they're expecting less because of the "limited" wording. |

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
There's a bit of a difference between not remembering which of the 30 songs I played last night had the crazy strobes and essentially saying "I can't back it up but I know it was better 3 months ago!"
