Keyboards so far have been an absolute game-changer for me. Get the game immediately and don't look back. All IMO of course.

I also have noticed it seems like you fail out quicker in this. A lot of times I can get through the really tough metal songs on expert guitar and barely escape the solo sections, but now I fail out before I'm even a quarter through.

Another song that illustrates this is Don't Stop Believin'. It's a *** song, but the fast lead stuff right before the second verse is pretty hard. I used to get by just missing every 4th note and I'd just make it to the high bend. Now I'm dead before I'm 1/2 way through the run.

Also, don't forget that they changed the design/angle of the note highways. The notes are much more smaller and bunched together now. This is also screwing me up big time

Okay, I guess it wasn't all in my head then, good to know. Now since they are looking into it, hopefully that means they put it back to RB2 levels.

Although I guess since there is ZERO penalty for using No Fail mode, I could just use that instead.

5* on Llama isn't impossible. I just slogged through it on Harmonies (to give myself some leeway) and when I was done, I was fucking floored by what the game told me.

Spoiler:
Number 2, baby!

There's no way in hell you real singers should let that travesty go!

I got #1 on Dead & Bloated vocals last night. (I think that was the one.) I'm assuming it's because 9 people bought the song.

As soon as I was done with that, it got rated 1-lighter. Fuck that song.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Why do our personal scores not get placed in their respective ranking spot on the leaderboards? I swear the other day it was, but now I see like pinata shows, it's at the bottom of the page. Has it just not updated yet or something? Maybe it's slower now with more people playing?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Yeah, I think it's just a timing issue. When I was done, it said I was #2. Maybe that's just going off the most recent data my game has. Or the leaderboard data is pulled, but my entry hasn't officially been placed and it's just a local score temporarily.

I'll keep checking to see if it changes.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Cool, yeah I saw the same thing. It would give my leaderboard rank, but then I look on the boards and I was just at the bottom with no rank. It's probably like we are thinking, just hasn't been updated yet.

I picked up this thing yesterday.. Supposedly it allows me to play Pro charts or something?

It's out of the box now, of course. Just didn't take a picture of that.

HOPO-cidal Maniac (25g)

Killed 53,596 Hammer-ons and Pull-offs.

At over 2,500 HOPOs so far, I'm almost 5% of the way there. At least it's not as boring as Dead Rising's.

This may have already been discussed but does the export cost add to the "spend 2400 points this month get 800 back" thing?

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

Awesome. Thanks for the quick response.

And add me to the list that is failing out on expert guitar quicker in RB3 than RB2. I played Muse "Hysteria" last night and fucked the solo up quite a bit. Didn't fail but barely squeaked by which I never did before. They must have tightened the timing or something. And I thought I was getting good.

Thanks.. Got it for $50 at a thrift store. We switched out the tiles to slate last year to match the new house. It's pretty ballin'.

I'm likin' the lack of grout.

It's just an iron frame with slots for standard 12x12 tiles. Really great when the wife wants to redecorate and we can basically get a "new" table for about $20 by just buying some new tiles.
