Re: Weekly Wed/Fri Rotating Game Nights (PS3)
Weak showing tonight. Boo! Hiss! Most of the night was 2 on 2 with Chew, Cruz, Shao and me.
The night in a nutshell: concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion.. .hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...co ncussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...h ammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer...concussion...hammer.
Good for lots of cheap kills...less good if you're trying to learn the intricacies of the game. It also ruins every map with any kind of clutter (otherwise known as the best ones) since you can't back away from the concussion to shoot.

Really wouldn't have mattered R2, but sorry you missed it. You were just one of at least 4 that we needed to show up to make it interesting, and you ****s know exactly who you are [glares at Slider].
We did have some fun times for sure...some close games...some blowouts...lots of hammer...so much hammer...hammer...haaaaaaaaammmmmer...wait...what was I talking about? RFG is a fun little playground for sure. I'm not sure exactly what the handicap does, but it seems to work, and it results in some nailbiters.
I do have a few setting tweaks in mind for the coming weeks starting with:
1. Not sure about spawning with the remote bombs...when everybody has them, they are just flying all over the place...but they aren't really overpowered or anything.
2. Positive I'm tired of spawning with the arc welder. We had maps that it was all you saw.
3. I think that a good rifle, a good shotgun and remote bombs is probably the best spawn loadout.
4. The answer to the hammer/concussion combo might just be dropping the life to 100%, which makes the hammer a 1-hit kill but also makes the guns more effective (I'm guessing). It feels like it takes a few too many bullets to kill a dude, and they can always get close enough to concuss you (particularly in tight quarters.
5. I think I need to remove some of the weaker guns...simplify a bit...just not sure which ones.

It'd be next Wednesday night. You make the call between 7 or 8 CST.
to Uncharted 2 and Modnation Racers.
I think Red Faction is a more interesting multi-player game than Uncharted 2, but you can't argue with that single-player experience. Amazing.
Modnation Racers is just a really really neat little game. I'm surprised at how much I like it, and I haven't even started building yet.
Given the right sale, you should be able to get Red Faction and Burnout Paradise for under $15 each, so it'd still be worth keeping an eye out. Both are a blast in multi-player, and both have really impressive single-player as well. Even if you just played with us every now and then, it'd be worth it.
In regards to the other games, I only have RDR and I'm looking to get Uncharted 2 with a possibility of Modnation Racers. I'm not really interested on any of the others.

Power outage. The storm here last night was amazing. If the wind was whipping any faster it would have been a tornado. I'm upset I missed it, because after CoD and Warhawk, RF:G has become my favorite MP game.

I'm upset I missed it too... but by the time our company left, I was piss drunk and couldn't really even sit upright. But then again I didn't expect to make it, I was just hoping.

Wednesday July 28th it is and how about if we keep it the same and make it at 9pm EST/8pm CST. Let me know if this okay with everyone.
In regards to hosting, since this is my first time, besides bringing the appetizers and drinks, what do I do?. Do we form a posse and do some hideouts and later go into specific matches or Coop depending on the numbers. Let me know if you guys have other suggestions...

Unfortunately since I'm in Canada, those Amazon.com sale are not that affordable to me since they either don't ship it to me or they charge me shipping plus handling fee which loses the point of the sale. I'll try to keep my eye on those games here in Canada and let you guys know.

Didn't make it on. The wife decided she wanted to watch a movie, and trust me, you don't want to argue with a pregnant woman who's just about to pop any day now.

I hear ya. I'm in the same boat. Due date is August 24th, but she already lost her mucus plug. Both the other kids were 2 weeks early so my money is August 9th.

Well, my wife has a scheduled C Section for this Tuesday, so it's literally any day now, if she doesn't come before that date, it's Tuesday. On the plus side, she doesn't want me to stay at the hospital with her, she wants me to come home to be with our other girls, so I should be good for Tuesday and Wedesday this week at least. Starting the following week, I'll be lucky if I make it on at all for a while.
