Re: Weekly Wed/Fri Rotating Game Nights (PS3)
Finished up season 2. For the most part it is a good show, but not exactly essential viewing. We always watch our shows on DVD so we can watch it all back to back, and of course the danger of that is what happened last night which is they have a good episode(the 10th) which makes you want to watch more. Too bad the 11th episode was kinda boring, but at that point we only had one episode left, so of course had to finish it up.

Last series I had a marathon with was Dexter - got sucked into season 1 and 2 streaming on Netflix and couldn't help but get season 3 on DVD. Waiting to jump into season 4.

Season four is phenomenal. I wish I could go back and watch it again for a first time.

That's what one of my coworker (who got me hooked on Dexter) keeps telling me. The guy has great taste in movies/shows/sports. We're always recommending stuff to each other.
Everyone we convince to watch Dexter thinks it is brilliant.

What the fuck are you guys talking about?
What?
What?
Resistance 2 was flipping awesome tonight. I'm kind of tempted to play with randoms just to unlock more areas. There are 5 total, and we only have 2. I'll find a way to have at least one new map for next Friday...assuming you guys are down for playing it again.
I wasn't that impressed with the Chicago level (fun though), but the California level was amazing. Those huge guys got a bit monotonous once we'd pumped a billion rounds into about 15 of them, but when we came across the first one, it was fully bad ass...fucking epic even!
I thought 6 guys felt pretty good in R2.

I'm not sure what you mean. I was talking about the game....fucking pederast!
Funny shit from last night:
- Shao doing his best Leeroy Jenkins impression
- Chew and I getting repeatedly killed by the one 2-star auger dude in that house...and eventually just giving up.
- "Yeah, there's a guy over there in that house that I like to call...The Motherfucker."
- Trying to give Digi ammo, but he's always behind me outside of my periphery...and complaining that he doesn't have ammo
- Trying to give Digi ammo and Slider always grabbing it
- "Stay in the circle of life!!!"
I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed the game...definitely a keeper. I especially love that 5 or 6 people makes the difficulty level just about perfect.

Medic!! Need a medic over here!
Awesome game last night. I'll be down for another game next week.
I got booted out if the game twice in the exact same spot. Didn't come back after the second time. The second time I was really on a roll with the sniper rifle had around 60 kills. I didn't get to keep all that XP

Somehow I dont think I am the problem in that equation when my ammo guy keeps getting distracted trying to snipe people and going ahead of the dude with the big shield. With cruz behind me I am able to maintain my shield indefinitely and he can hide behind it as well and take his pot shots...with you, not so much. When I run out of ammo and can no longer power my shield I am reluctant to stand out in the open and draw fire, so I fall back...meanwhile, you keep moving forward, or as in the case in the second to last map you were way the hell in the back. I didn't have the fewest deaths in every match for nothin'

Although honestly if you work it correctly where you have 1 spec ops guy constantly on the ass of a soldier it seems the game is fairly easy since the spec ops guy can keep the ammo pumping to keep the shield up and then the soldier just stands there and goes Predator on everyone almost to the point where it is not that interesting. Really it seems like you need 1 spec op to every soldier and then maybe one medic per 5 people or so. As long as the shields are up I dont know that you need much in the way of healing.
Fun games overall, just wish there was more horde mode type games and less of the big bad boss guys as they are more or less just kind of boring as long as you are working the teamwork.

I had no connectivity issues. I do, very much, prefer Uncharted 2's horde mode, but this was still a lot of fun. I agree with Digi though that with our setup last night it was too easy. Cruz on quite a few maps kept me ammo'd up, so the shield was going and it almost became boring because I was just sitting there for five minutes holding the same two buttons down. To make it interesting next time we should have one spec ops guy for every two soldiers, and one medic.
It became a little too monotonous for me at times which is why I would randomly run out into the heart of the action and make it a little more interesting.

Re: Weekly Wed/Fri Rotating Game Nights (PS3)
I get that the ideal setup is a soldier with his shield set up, a spec ops behind him feeding him ammo and sniping, and a medic behind them both keeping their lives up. But really, a game of hiding behind you and digi and feeding you ammo boxes isn't that appealing to me. If I can run out there and mix it up a bit and just toss ammo out randomly, however, that's pretty fun.

I unlocked and played England this morning and unlocked whichever map was next. It wasn't too hard getting a bunch of randoms in the game and muscling through them. Once, I just stayed at the original spawn point and had breakfast while 7 dudes went off and completed the level for me.

I say next time we should all be soldiers and try it out. Yeah, we'll die more often and run out of ammo frequently, but it will be more challenging and require more strategy.

I'd rather we were all spec ops and medics rather than tanks. Running out of ammo or sitting at one bar of health for extended periods is frustrating.
I played a round without a medic this morning. Not good.

I personally really enjoyed playing as the spec-ops. I'd feed ammo toss out those shock grenades and then snipe until I had to reload. rinse and repeat. The challenge for me was to try to find the little gaps in the landscape to snipe at enemies while keeping myself right behind the soldiers sheilds and out of the line of fire. It was far more interesting to me than playeng as a tank or a medic. the XP chained so if I kept hitting enemies and busting out headshots without missing XP would get higher.

Actually, I think Slider is on to something...just has the wrong class.
Let's all roll as spec ops and medics on Friday. I'm sure we'll miss the raw firepower and might die more, but at least we won't have to listen to Soldiers whine that nobody is humping them.
