played the demo for Split/Second, much better than Blur. The cars handle a helluva a lot better too. I was afraid Split may be too linear in where you destroy things, but thats not really the case, except for the big course changer. Keeping my Pre-order, and will Gamefly Blur.

I was leaning toward Split/Second and Amazon just helped me decide. The 360 version's on sale for $45.98 with a $10 VG credit. Nice.

Cool, I was wondering if they were going to match Dell. Looks like they are $5 better with the GC. They are also offering release date delivery on this one.

Still not sure if I want to pull the trigger yet with my backlog. Sucker. In for one.

Hey, for anyone interested in one or the other of these games, both Split/Second and Blur are $39.99 at K Mart from now until 6/12. Got S/S last week, ModNations the week before and am thinking about Blur now. I'm such a sucker.

Having played all three of the recent racing games, I think they all have merit. Which one(s) you should get will depend on what you're looking for in a racing game. All have multiplayer, but I feel like Split/Second is more focused on single player, and it's probably the most exciting and over-the-top of the three. Blur is really slick and has a great sense of progression as you rank up and unlock new stuff (in both the single player and multiplayer modes). Finally, ModNation Racers has all of the user-created content and a unique art style.

Having finished Split/Second single player, the online multiplayer is much more fun now that I have most of the good cars. I played for about an hour last night. Won a couple but mostly finished 2nd. Went from an online form of 99 to 63 in that time. I also did manage to nab an achievement I didn't think I would:

Giant Killer - Beat an opponent with an online form of 10 or better.

Actually beat someone ranked #1.

... but yeah, before finishing the single player game, online Split/Second = ass.

Almost. All but 3 Detonators and 1 Air Revenge. So there is one more car to unlock.

I hope there is some DLC to follow up that cliffhanger ending.

Dude, that ending was freaking awesome. Screw DLC, I'm ready for SS2. I think they have just scratched the surface of the possibilities of this [potential] franchise.
