I'm in for both. I've been playing the Blur beta and I really enjoy it. The cars don't handle the best but i still enjoy the gameplay so yeah, I'm in for both.

I played the Split Second demo this morning. It's single-player only, and just a single track, but I really like it. I couldn't get into Blur, but I'll get Split Second at some point down the road.

I loved the Split/Second demo. Wasn't expecting anything, the game was not in my radar, but it was a really good surprise. I'll eventually get this game.
Oh and I love Paradise. I loved the original game, and I think they just kept improving over the solid base. So Corvin, if you didn't like the original game, I really don't think you'll like the current game. For me they just made an already excellent game better though. You may find the game a little more decent after all the additions but I wouldn't expect that you get excited about it.

I liked the demo for split/second, but I didn't love it. It has a good sense of speed, but the champ still remains Burnout in that arena. Still, the constant changing of the course was really neat.

I just got Pure yesterday, and it's really great fun. I bought it because it's the closest thing we've gotten to SSX since SSX.

Corvin could really learn something from this dude.

Don't be too fast on that one chess. I am a member of the church of Burnout 3 & Takedown> Paradise. But, I only played a bit when Paradise came out, and I've resigned myself to giving Paradise another go this summer. So all is not lost.

Tease!
Paradise is brilliant, and you will love it. For me, restarts were all that was missing when it launched, but they've added much more, including custom soundtracks, which is huge. I'll play it sometimes just as something to do while I listen to music.

Who? And the Muse album was new, what, six months ago?
Serious though, what are you talking about? Since it is a built in feature the 360 custom soundtracks supersede the game. You can listen to whatever you want constantly over top of pretty much any* game. No pause or break in the music for menus or events. This is not new.
*there are a few rare examples where the game takes over during cinematics.

Of course Paradise is a fine game. I don't think anyone debates that. It's just I adored what Burnout was so much that it made it hard for me to accept what the series became. At least at first.

I almost never race in Burnout Paradise, as there are too many much more interesting things to do...superjumps, signs, takedowns, stunt runs, freeburn challenges, road-rules, etc.

On most games, I wouldn't care to listen to a custom soundtrack. Driving games are a great fit though, particularly an open-world one. Sports games would be too if I ever played them.

Re: Split/Second or Blur?
I only selected the classical and DM pieces for burnout. They just seemed to fit better than the rest of the songs on the playlists.
Also, Just played the Split second demo and I have to give it the nudge over Blur. I like them both but, does Split Second seem to handle better than Blur? or maybe it's just me...?

Re: Split/Second or Blur?
Finally gave the Split/Second demo a spin last night. Ran three races. It was a blast. The cars handled better than Blur, but nowhere near a Burnout level. I kinda missed not having a boost or being able to 'nudge/takedown' other cars. It did feel like most obstacles were avoidable but the main draw seemed to be the secondary trigger. From the three races I did, it seems like the course changes more depending on how many times you save up and use it(or maybe it's just one major change per lap). Hard to tell.
Still it was very fun. Like Blur, it doesn't seem like it needs to be a day one-$60 purchase.
ExciteTruck/Bots gives Burnout a run for the money in the speed department.

BTW, that package of DLC was AMAZING. To have that much content readily available on my hard drive at any time is really, really awesome and it's the reason other racing games just don't seem that appealing any more.

Ever since I sold my 360 and bought the Complete Burnout package from the PSN store, I see you own almost every road, chess!

It's funny how that works, because I own almost none of the roads in my own game. It's friends-list specific, and two other guys rule all my roads. Every now and then, I'll make a point to try to take down a road, and it's always down to hundredths of a second. It keeps you playing.Generally, the Knight Rider car is the one for taking down my times.

That is funny. I'll start working on taking down your times now.
That Knight Rider car is insanely, unfairly fast. And I almost wish that the Complete version didn't have all the in-game cars already unlocked, as it used to be fun to go chase down a car to add it to your collection, now there really isn't a point in doing that.
BTW : I made a small typo in my previous post. I sold my 360 version of Burnout, not the 360 itself. To do that would be foolish. Right chess?

Re: Split/Second or Blur?
Tried the Split Second demo last night and just didn't care much for it. Maybe it's because I just played 20+ hours of Need for Speed Undercover, but the game just felt too slow. I didn't like being confined in walls on a track, and I didn't feel engaged whenever I would trigger some explosion where I guess I killed other drivers who were ahead of me fair and square. Nice concept, Disney.

Yes, the Knight Rider car is ridiculously fast and controllable under boost, and it's super easy to chain boosts in it. It's also one of the tougher cars in the game. The only thing it doesn't do super well is stunts.

I'll tell you when the 360 "slim" comes out...hopefully with full USB support and hopefully fewer dibilitating design flaws.
