Finally got all the single player trophies. I'm ready to form a posse on PS3 hit me up! Btw the "mowing them down" trophy is complete BS.

The final few hours of the main story were brilliantly scripted and executed.

Spoiler:
The game totally played on my video game preconceptions. I knew there was a reason the game was continuing on with Marsden doing the family thing but I assumed it was going to be his family getting killed and John going on a rampage for revenge. Every time I headed out with the wife or Jack I assumed it was going to be bad news when I came back home. It never was though. Till the end. Then I was just waiting for the shoe to drop. When John sent them off and takes his last breath before accepting his fate by stepping through those barn doors I was pretty floored. Powerful stuff. Brilliant way for them to play out the end game and allow you to continue on too. And the Jack revenge? Just awesome. So fucking good.

Beat the game yesterday and that ending was just great. That's gotta be one of the best endings in a game I've ever seen.

Spoiler:
My only issue is I don't really like the voice on Jack. At least the older version is a bit better, but the younger one had me thinking that John and Abigail had to have been related. I think I'm going to revert to my save close to the end, only losing about 40 minutes, and go do as much stuff as I can with John before moving forward.

I'm close to beating this and I've heard how great the ending is, but I swear to god if it ends with me having to fight some aliens or zombies, or if I wake up in an animus...

You may want to spoil that for those that aren't there yet. Cause it's totally zombie aliens.

The whole fucking game is a movie being broadcast on a Liberty City TV station in between the time Nico goes bowling and has his first reacharound.

Just one of many things I love about this game is how random things happen. Just trotting along between locations and any number of things can happen. Last night a guy ran past me, screaming like a maniac, being chased by two mountain lions (I shot them and saved the guy). Just awesome.

I am, however, sick of picking flowers.

I just finished the mission where you
Spoiler:
take the fort.
Not sure if there's a lot left or a little, but with all the stuff there is to do it feels almost endless.

If you mean Fort Mercer, you have a ways to go (although I'm still not finished yet, but in the final locations).

And speaking of random events, do you guys know how to successfully save the people being hung/lynched? I've had several guys run up to me asking for help to save their wives. I dispatch (I think) of all the baddies and run up to the poor hanging women, thinking there'll be a prompt to cut her down, but they always end up dying. :(

Spoiler:
I'm kinda bummed that you can't really recreate the song moments outside of the one time. I don't think it would take away from the initial impact if upon completing the game you would get to "unlock" them and play them anytime you want. :(

Regarding the "I Know You" Stranger quest -

Spoiler:
While it became obvious during the 2nd meeting this dude was "Death", during the 3rd meeting all that talk about "This being a good spot", I was totally ready for John's death, but it was a little far away from the Beecher's Hope farm so that was a bit of a let-down. I suppose one could argue Death was looking towards there.

When it happened, it only added to the impact. Chills.

Man I am sooooooooo dragging ass in this game. I have played for like 8 hrs and I am only close to 20% done. I just ride around looking at everything. But I am loving the shit out of every cocksucking second.

Right now it looks like I can. I might have to drop off for about an hour around 9 central for a Doom 2 session I'm trying to get together.

Don't feel bad, I'm about 22 hours in and only 42% done - there is just so much time-wasting opportunity in this game (sans cocksucking ;) ). And I haven't even been into the online portion yet.

If you mean play the missions any time you want, you can. After completing any mission, you can play it again by hitting the Start button, go to Stats, then Missions, and then select what you want to replay. You can still earn achievements and attempt to earn a betting rating in each mission (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

No. I mean a specific few songs not missions.

I tried for it once in college. Didn't much care for the grind.
