Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Has anyone bought a refurbished 3DS directly from the Nintendo Store? I don't generally like to buy refurbs, but if its directly from Nintendo I think it might be okay.

I have never owned any handheld system before, but I have been watching some videos on youtube about Link Between Worlds, and I want it so bad now.

Link to the Past was always by far my favorite Zelda game. I still go back and replay it once a year. Ocarina of Time was good too, but I never liked it nearly as much as LttP.

I'm in the same boat, was thinking about buying a used one or if I should buy new just for Zelda.

The DSL XL with a game was $150 at Target or something a few days ago. Why go refurbed?

Thanks. I haven't paid much (or really any) attention to the 3DS until now, so I didn't know they go on sale often.

Great minds think alike.

There's no Target store in my city. I was just thinking refurb because its $50 cheaper than MSRP. Like I said before, I'm not a handheld gamer and never owned a handheld system before. Looking at the DS/3DS library, there's really only a few of games that I would actually want. So I'm not willing to spend a great deal of money for it.

Don't know what refurbished units run, but the 3ds xl with a game has been 150 at Walmart too. And of there's not one in your town, order online.

I bought an xl last week and I love it. I'm also not a huge hand held gamer, but I've been eyeballing these for a while and I really wanted to pay Zelda too.

Refurb units on the Nintendo Store are $149. I will check Wal-Mart on Monday. Thanks.

Its funny how Mario is Nintendo's mascot when it seems like Zelda is a much bigger system seller. You, me, and fumanstan have all said Zelda is what got us interested in the 3DS.

For me it was Ocarina of Time 3D, so I guess you can include me as well.

^ Same. The LE Zelda 3DS is what pushed me over the edge.

If I could've found the LE, I would've pucked it up in a heartbeat. I went with plain old black instead.

I think it was a combo of Zelda, Fire Emblem, and Monster Hunter that really propelled my interest past casual and in to seriously thinking of buying one.

And it looks like the Walmart sale might be over, but I've seen these on sale at different places quite regularly over the last two weeks or so. Best Buy, Target, Walmart, New Egg. I'd just keep your eyes open and I'm sure another deal will come around soon.

Mark me down. No interest in 3DS but I grabbed the Zelda bundle.

I'm in the club, too. Didn't care at all about the 3DS until ALBW came out. A sequel to one of my top-five all time favorites and that gorgeous piece of hardware. . . how could I resist?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I received the Zelda 3DS for Christmas, but if I'm honest this thing has been an Animal Crossing machine. I like the new Zelda, but I can't stop playing Animal Crossing.

When I mentioned the Zelda 3DS I did actually mean the Original bundle with OoT packed-in...so that's all it took for me!

Ditto on the Zelda bundle. I had a previous 3DS (Ambassador) but I never touched it. I need to sell it now that I have a far superior XL with a sweet paint job.

3D Land pulled me in, but Zelda is the best game on the system, IMO.

For those who have both Steammworld Dig and Mario Donkey Kong Minis on the Move if you have to own only one which would be and why? And yes I do realize the are completely different genres.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I am really enjoying the Bravely Default demo. The art and music are great and the "brave" and "default" add an interesting game mechanic. I also noticed that the L trigger will do "brave" and the "R" trigger will do "default" in battle.

Can't wait for the full release!

I am watching some videos of Pushmo, and I laugh every time the game says to "pull out" with those words highlighted.

That's too bad as there are tons of excellent games on 3DS.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Could be, but I won't be buying anything else either until a sale. $40 for portable games is ridiculous, IMO. Kinda why I never made it past the DSlite.

I haven't beat LBW because I've been dicking around with a bunch of other cool games on it.

Spoiler:
Also because I'm stupid and can't figure out some of the puzzles.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I basically just got to the other world. Just wandering around there now, but yeah I'm in the same boat as Matt. Playing a few other games as well, so Zelda takes a back seat. I've loved what I've played so far though.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

For those who've never played it, Zelda: Four Swords is great! It's a top-down Zelda game, ala Link to the Past, though a bit more action/puzzle-filled with less story/dungeons.
