Groucho and my posts are nearly identical in both threads.

Madden 2003. Cant beat my friend who always picked the Rams to save my life. His offense was unstoppable. Thats the maddest I ever got. I threw the game including the case and out of my backdoor and swore to never play it again. I retrieved 10 minutes later. I recently threw my controller at a wall playing Madden 10 with another buddy. He pressed the middle Xbox button during one of my plays and threw me off to where I turned the ball over. I had the game in control and wound up losing after that point. I love Madden football!

Yes I have. Only XBOX though, nothing else every frusterates me as much as that motherfucker. 2 Wired headsets, I've tossed my wireless one may, many times, the faceplates just break off, but they reattach very easily, and 3 wireless controllers completely dominated.

Nope. I broke a racketball racket once by hitting it against the wall, but that's it. I haven't hit quite the right angle yet to break a video game controller I guess.

My brother used to beat the hell out of Genesis controllers, and I know he also went through a couple of XBOX controllers years ago. I think he's calmed down a bit in recent times. I promised to kick his ass at Perfect Dark sometime, so I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I used to take out gaming-related frustrations in unhealthy ways in my angsty teen years, but I can't remember ever actually breaking anything. One of the worst things I've ever done, gaming-related or not, was punching my brother in the face in public after he won a round of some fighting game (possibly one of the 500 versions of Street Fighter II) at Red Robin. That wasn't entirely due to the game though. I didn't break his nose, but there was a whole lot of blood. I was probably 14, he would have been 11.
These days, if a game reaches a point of frustration, I just crank down the difficulty or walk away altogether. If I'm not having fun, there's no point to it. I think the fact that I don't really play competitive games anymore has a lot to do with my zen-like attitude towards games now.
All that said, I do still blurt out the occasional obscenity while playing.

Way back when I got so pissed off at playing the original Ninja Gaiden on the NES. Level 6-2 which is so freaking hard and every time you get hit, you bounce forwards or backwards and usually die. After about an hour of this, I took my NES Max and swung it around and broke it hitting my bed.

I stomped the heck out of a Sega Genesis controller after being beat by the computer in Bill Walsh College Football '95. Man that game got me riled up on a regular basis.

Threw my controller against the closet door after trying to beat the final boss on Dead Rising. Not only do you have to get through this extremely tedious area to fight him hand to hand, but at that point he puts you in a choke hold and the game is over and you have to start at the last save point, which is about 15-20 min from the final encounter. After the 10th try or so I lost it and threw my controller and it cracked. I have yet to try the final boss fight again.

Havn't broke anything that I recall .... I do remember my step brother hitting himself in the head repeatedly with a super nintendo controller.... I myself just yell at who ever walks into the room and tries to talk to me when i'm doing something frustrating for the 100th time.

I never have. I have loads of self control, so when the curse words start flying, I stop playing and hit the gym.
My friend, however...
A few years back, I recommended Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance to him, and he got it for Christmas(Xbox). I went to his house that day and he was playing through Konquest. He was playing one mission where he had to perform a really long combo string, and after 10,000 tries, he still hadn't done it. I watched him, and he was rolling the wrong way. I told him to hand me the controller, and I pulled it off first try. The next combo in the mode was the opposite roll, and he once again did it backwards. I told him he was doing it wrong, he said something like "WHO THE FUCK CARES IT SHOULD DO IT ANYWAY!!!!". He tried again, the clock ran out and he failed. So he went ballistic - he punched the TV, started pounding on his desk, kicking everything in sight, cursing at the game, then he hurled his Xbox controller. After that, he ejected the game, took the disc in his hand and bent it in half, then scratched the shit out of it with a pocket knife. He then yelled "TRY AND TELL ME I'M A FAILURE NOW BITCH!" and put the disc in, and the Xbox obviously couldn't recognize it.....afterwards, he returned MK: DA to the store and said "the disc was like that when I opened it", and they let him swap it for Hitman 2.
BTW, when he went to retrieve the controller, he had somehow managed to yank the breakaway portion of the cable as well, and even though this was in a small room, we still could not find where the hell the cable went....never have asked him if he found it, because whenever anyone mentions Mortal Kombat he goes into rampage mode.

I fired a Genesis controller into the wall once while playing my college roommate in NHL 93. His trash talking had gotten to me and i was sick of my goalie being a sieve.

my brother and I were playing baseball. I wanna say on the sega genesis but it may have been the original playstation. Anyhow he is 3-0 in the bottom of 9th with 2 outs and I have a man on 1st and 3rd. He intentionally walks a decent hitter to bring up my back up catcher...who promptly hits a grand slam..he was so pissed, he chucked the remote across the basement hitting the wall and just shattering it in pieces...pretty funny

One night last month, while losing a 15-point lead in 2 minutes in NBA2k10, I threw my controller so hard that the sound of it crashing against the wall set off the house alarm.

Re: Ever been so mad at a game you broke something?
Ha this thread makes me feel better about myself. I've broken probably 2-3 PS2 controllers back in the day. When I played it, I sat on the floor so I'd slam my fist with the controller into the carpet when I was really pissed.
I've only slightly cracked the battery pack of one 360 controller so I'm getting better, but it's probably because it's more expensive than a ps2 controller was. Now I just punch the hell out of beds, pillows, or couches. I have other friends who've broken controllers or just stomp and yell so loud it disturbs the neighboring apartments.
