No that will work. I'll be online. If I'm in-game just message me and I'll get out. BTW this is the 1st time I'm ever doing this so hopefully it's pretty easy to just go and click "Start Game" or something.

It is easy to get in a game with your opponent. You just see if your opponent is online in your buddy list and challenge them to a league game. Then everything else will fall in place. Remember that if you have a headset you must hold down on the d-pad to turn the mic on. I think it only remains open while you are holding it down.

Please add all the other league members to your buddy list as it will make this league and future leagues run a bit smoother. Thanks!!

Is the challenge done from inside the game or at the PS3 dashboard?

That's me. I am coaching soccer practice tonight, but I should be ready to go a little after 9:00 pm Eastern Time. I stay up pretty late, so if you are a west coast guy, that shouldn't be a problem for me.

For future reference for all my opponents. After 9 is usually available for me. I also work from home, so if anyone is ever available during the day - I could arrange an impromptu "lunch hour" to play

Yeah, 10pm (after Lost) would work for me.

Re: Official MLB '10: The Show PS3 Online League Thread

Great game with Daryl/GoBlue... but that one inning, for fucksake. Now I'm not normally prone to histrionics but I was about to curse the mother, the grandmother, and the great grandmother of each of the game developers. You know the inning I'm talking about.

And I don't know if anyone else has experienced this little "quirk" but on groundballs hit in the infield the fielder will react normally to reach the ball, but just before or as they catch it, they go into super slo-mo while the baserunners apparently move at normal speed. This happened twice to Chipper Jones. One time he failed to throw out Robinzon Diaz. No bobble. No errors. No user error (I press the wrong buttons on baserunning just fine on my own). I just couldn't throw. Arrrrrrgravating.

I've also got to ask the question... why does Billy Wagner pitch in this game like he's just done an 8-ball? There's no way to control where his pitches go. This is has both its good and bad points, mind you. It's just freaky.

If they're in your buddy list and your logged into the league you can challenge them to a league game and the computer will put the designated team as the home team. It is really easy and why I suggest that we all have each other as buddies in the game and possibly as friends in your PSN list.

Is this game generally lag free? I just played my first game ever online (a quick match) and it was lag city. I should probably go with a wired connection for next time.. since my router is about three feet away from my router.

while that was going on, I was thinking "if that was me, my foot would be going through my TV!". I was ticked off after the first inning when I didn't complete the double play thanks to the shortstop deciding to do a 360 before throwing, which was followed by the home-run - but I guess I can't complain after that inning you had .

Anyway, good game! I was a little overwhelmed at first with the game sometimes using the pitching meter and sometimes not, I assume this was do to the connection speed varying?? And as you said, there was some quirkiness going on with fielding. That Diaz play was bizarre, he didn't just beat it, he was 10 feet past 1st base by the time the throw got there. Speaking of Diaz, wtf - dude isn't even on the Tigers 25 man roster and they have him starting? I spent 10 minutes getting the lineup accurate, logged out and came back in and everything was still like I had it. And then the game starts and it reverts back to the default Tigers lineup that is 33% inaccurate.

Just so you know, if Matt Diaz had got just one more damn hit, I was planning on plunking him in the head the next at-bat

Good game sauce.

General question, what is the etiquette on using guess pitch? My buddies and I use it on every pitch but I noticed early on that you weren't, so I only did it a couple times after the second inning. I'm willing to use it however often others do.

Draven sorry about my poor IMing I was trying to say I was scheduled with Max for tonight. Let's play after Lost tomorrow if you're on.

Max, it seems like I lost connection to you in the 8th. I really wanted to finish that game - total pitcher's duel! I don't like that it automatically gave me the win - I wish we could resume.

Also, I don't know if it was intentional, but when you plunked Konerko after Quentin homered I was dying. The one guy I hit happened because of lag. But I was tempted to plunk Matsui earlier.

Great game Bunk, you definately deserved the win. Your pitching had me on total lockdown and I can strand baserunners like nobody's business.

Anyone want to explain how I am 0-1 and yet my pitcher leads the league in wins with 1?
The stat keeping in this game is just plain retarded. Looking at the box score from the game me and Bunkaroo just played it showed me scoring my only run in the 6th when I scored it in the 1st.

We actually tied with hits, so I think we were both locked down after the early innings.

I didn't even notice that other stuff - online still needs some polish it seems.

You're not referring to me right? If so it wasn't me you played.

Good game Rocket. So after my game with Rocket (my second league game) my record in the league to 0-0?!?!?!
Seriously WTF is it with this game?

Re: Official MLB '10: The Show PS3 Online League Thread

Haha I saw that. God I'm sick of losing these one run games. Both games I have trouble with stupid errors in the beginning, shut em down in the middle and still lose by one. And both games I narrowly miss 18 homeruns.

Were you lagging at all? I had a few times when I was pitching where the cursor just dissapeared but my guy pitched it anyways (the worst was that passed ball late in the game)

Re: Official MLB '10: The Show PS3 Online League Thread

Lagged a few times, but nothing that really bothered me. I don't know what the deal is with the pitcher throwing on his own, it does that to me a lot too. It seems like if you pick a certain location he throws it himself.
I guess I'm a shoe-out for the playoffs if none of my f'ing games are going to count... You can bet I'll be in commisioner dsa_shea's office first thing in the morning about this!
I had a player get injured and I bet you anything that is what caused my record to bug. This game can't handle injuries.

So, since someone said we dont have to play in order, if someone wants to play their game against me I should be available this afternoon.

I've only played 3 or 4 games online, but I believe this happens when the batter guesses either the correct pitch, or location. Not positive though.
