Re: Alan Wake
Sometimes these remasters come with dlc and stuff. Any chance or news of American Nightmare being included? Or will that inevitably come later, if this a success, somewhat?

I mean it looks better, but not as much as I had anticipated. I see no need to rebuy or replay this game based on that trailer.

Re: Alan Wake
I'll probably buy it the first time it gets a price drop, if for no other reason than to drop my 360 disc, even though it's free on EA Access / Game Pass.
But yeah, it looks mostly like a texture pack update, though the improved cutscenes are a nice touch.
I don't like this practice of changing the main character's face with the remaster, though. Spider-Man did the same.

Re: Alan Wake
I’m getting. I thought that looked very different in comparison and very good. Richer, more realistic/theatrical. I have the old digitally, but that looked fantastic and $30 isn’t too bad with 2 DLCs too, even though have them and American Nightmare. I’m sure okays better too, higher FPS perhaps. Played a bit of old and think liked, but moved on to something else for whatever reason).
I’m having hard time sticking to anything. Nothing interesting me. Went back to Outriders (which I always liked, but haven’t finished. Don’t even know how far I am) and I think that will hold me over till this, then Far Cry 6 since that’ll be much longer than AW.

Actually, the improved HUD is nice too. More games need to be reworked with minimalist or dynamic HUDs.

Re: Alan Wake
I thought MS would charge me today, since 10 days prior to release. Which I hate btw. 10 day bs. I wish Amazon had digital. But, haven’t gotten charged. Odd.

I guarantee you you'll notice it when you're actually playing...Not trying to get you to buy it or anything but I have alien eyes and ears for detail and I can tell there are big differences (hence why I always usually buy remasters).

I tried replaying it a couple of years ago at my daughter's request. I don't know if it aged poorly or I just didn't have the patience. I didn't enjoy playing it much. It felt slow and not in a suspenseful way. Sometimes gameplay gets outdated if you play enough similar games in the interval between. and that's what it felt like here.

Re: Alan Wake
Most of the reviews seem to mention the dated gameplay being an issue, but that didn't stop many of them from highly recommending it. Seems like PushSquare is an outlier with their "6/10" (not that these numbers mean anything, honestly).

I loved the Story and the voice acting, but as far as gameplay, Control does similar action but in a much more entertaining way.

I wonder what that guy's view is on Last of Us, cuz I sort of have the same issues with that title.

This will be first play through, so sounds like the best way to play and I can’t wait.

This is another one I never got around to playing (other than the weird Control crossover), so I'm looking forward to finally giving it a try. I always thought it looked interesting.

My local Game Stop didn't have it - I'm guessing not many places are interested in stocking a remaster of Alan Wake - I would love to play this throughout October with Halloween and all coming soon.

All the enemies in that game are not the same and can't be defeated in the same rote way over and over again.
