Come on, it's The Show we're talking about!

I was thinking about it, and I'm actually glad they didn't release a demo like they usually do. Every time they do I end up playing the demo into the ground. Now, Tuesday will be a completely new experience.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth...have the game and cannot play it.

Getting it tomorrow...already got my pre-order card for classic stadiums.

I noticed on the card I got for pre-ordering it at Gamestop that the date for launch of the exclusive DLC content is 5/4/2010. Further down on the card it says "Start date subject to change without notice." I'm hoping that 5/4 was the original release date of the game and they forgot to change it on the pre-order cards.

Those of you with a non-slim PS3 are going to have to wait to play the game.

Here's Sony's statement:

"As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.

We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.

Errors include:
* The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
* When the user tries to sign-in to the PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen; "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)".
* When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; "Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game."
* When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen; "The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)"
* Users are not able to playback certain rental video downloaded from the PlayStation Store before the expiration date.

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

As mentioned above, Please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologise for any inconvenience caused."

They've been releasing it in March for years though. Even if the first two numbers were transposed like in Europe, it would be late for today's sports games.

I hope they just put a 5 instead of a 3 there by mistake.

The note on Amazon's page says the download code will be emailed within 10 business days of release. I'm still holding out hope that Sony's issues (hardware, PSN, or whatever it is) will somehow be resolved by tomorrow or Wednesday. I probably won't have time to play until Wednesday anyway, so I guess I'll give them the extra day. ;) Good thing I finally got around to finishing Ratchet: Crack in Time yesterday morning! I did have my PS3 on last evening to watch a movie (before I read about the issues), and I just happened to glance at my trophy information. Everything appeared okay...for the time being...

I thought that was the suspense date for the content...I thought it said LAUNCH-5/4/2010...I could be wrong though as it is not in front of me.

Amazon still hasn't shipped my release day shipping copy of it. Should I be concerned?

I often get a confirmation/shipping notice the same day a Release-Date game shows up on my doorstep.

Just an update: PS3 clock (hardware) issue seems to have resolved itself (at least for me).

My copy of MLB 10 The Show is still showing as "Shipping Soon" on Amazon (I have release day delivery as well).
