Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken

I'll add in Aliens Vs. Predator to the list of interesting titles coming out in Feb/March. I'll need to make sure it gets decent reviews but I'm really interested in that as I loved the PC game.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken

Answering question from previous page....

A system restore on a different PS3 appears to restore all profiles and themes, most game saves (some are locked to the PS3, like Rock Band), all pictures and videos, but it doesn't keep your downloaded games.

It's a bummer because I had a couple of gameshares, but it's not that big of a deal to hit up my download history in the PSN store for the stuff I've purchased. TONS of Rock Band stuff though.

So did anyone here get MAG on purpose? I'm wondering what people thought and whether I should open my copy up as opposed to ebaying it new.

I picked it up. Have yet to play it. Hearing some great things about it. Will open it up soon once I'm doing with this recent spat of work.

On purpose? Do you often pick up $60 games by accident? Or is MAG supposed to be a crappy game? Cos the ads looked pretty good.

What the hell is the deal with PSN and credit cards? I'm trying to get the damn battle of forli add-on for AC2 and it's not letting me use my credit card. Granted, at first I was using one of those PayPal generated credit cards but it wont even let me use my real credit card which is very much active and up to date. What the hell?

I'm not much for multiplayer games at all, but this might be the kind I like (one where I can hide out and my utter failings aren't so obvious or hurting any other player -- I like Battlefield 1943 for that reason). The game only cost me $44 after those two discount AND came with a $10 game credit that I can certainly use. So the question is should I return this game that I don't know if I have any real interest in for $34 net cost or should I try and return it (which would probably cost me $4 in shipping cost since I guess it was my mistake)? I'm torn on this, but I guess I'd be able to sell it for $30-$40 if I hated it....
Oh I understand what happened to him now. That does suck.

Isn't Gears of War developed by Epic, which did the Unreal series and aren't tied to one platform?

They are probably only in the 360 version of the game. There was a MAG open beta released on PSN a couple weeks ago, it is 1.8 GB though.

Yes, but Microsoft publishes Gears so fandango is probably right, only in the 360 version.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken

Got my slim from Amazon today, and I have everything loaded back up that I could. Unfortunately, my last backup was mid-September, and suffice to say that I've played a few things since then.

The big losses are my Rock Band 2 save (which apparently doesn't transfer) and my Infamous save (which was near 100%).

Smaller losses:

Williams Pinball
Genesis Collection
Uncharted 2
Batman
Beatles
Fallout 3 GOTY
God of War Collection

It sounds bad, but I recovered more than I lost...and I don't mind playing most of those again...in fact, it gives me an excuse.

The slim is badass. Very slick looking and SILENT.

It was only a matter of time.... GTA: Episodes from Liberty City coming to PS3 on March 30. ($40)

any day now, I expect Bioware to announce Mass Effect Collection (1 and 2) on one blu-ray. =P

did the 360 one come with the original too? wasn't it standalone?

When asked a few weeks about about where all the PS3 love is Rockstar said that they have glorious year for PS3 players. This must be the start of that.

Bioware said they were working on something for PS3, it very well could be that.

If you have an apartment/suite # in your address and have it listed in PSN on address line 2, try putting it all on address line 1.

Make sure it matches the address of your credit card statement exactly. Same case, abbreviations, etc.
