I just figured they would carry the NFL stuff since they carried all the college games whether it was on ESPN 1, 2, or U unless it was a local blackout. I just wondered if there was a rights issue with streaming the NFL games.

Probably is. I don't think any NFL or NBA games are on there, ever. Not sure about MLB. NHL (et al) and MLS (as well as all the overseas leagues) seem to be.

Thanks for the heads-up, SunMonkey. I was going to run out of space soon, so I went ahead and grabbed this. Hopefully my old 360 can live through the rest of this generation.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I want to create two offline Xbox profiles for my girls so the Kinect can ID them and associate them to their respective profiles. I have some questions...
1. Can I turn these offline profiles into online profiles (either free or gold) when they get older assuming they still are interested in the Xbox?
2. If the answer to #1 is yes, then do the earned achievements carry over to the online profile?
3. If their offline gamertag is not available online I assume they will be prompted to change it. Is there a cost associated with this? Or does the "change your gamertag" cost (800 pts I think) only kick in when you are changing the tag for an online profile, either free or gold?
4. My daughters are 3 and 4... should I create offline profiles or free online profiles?
Thanks

I will disagree with piñata on point 4.
If you make a Silver account for them I believe they will be able to buy things online. My 6-year old knows enough to stop when menus are asking her questions she doesn't understand but when she was three... Well who knows what we might have ended up owning.
Another thing is actually stinging my 17-year old brother. He signed up for a silver account when he was 14 or 15. He put in his birthdate. Now he is 17 and because it knows he is a minor it won't let him download any M-rated demos or trailers.
It kills him that he can play MW2 and BlOps but can't watch any videos about them.

Disagree with miyu on everything.
Don't give them points on their account.
Be an attentive parent.
Eat meat.

Even if you don't give them points, can't they buy points through the interface on the linked credit card? I admit to being ignorant on that point since I have had a card linked to my account since the original Xbox. My daughter also has an offline account because she was angry that the gamertag she wanted was taken.

Good advice on being an attentive parent.
Also great advice on eating soy-or-wheat-based-meat-analogues.

I don't have a linked credit card so I don't know about the pitfalls therein.
But, wouldn't different accounts have different CC info or are they inherited based on the console or "parent" XBL account?

I'm currently having huge achievement troubles. I played NBA 2K11 the other day for the first time. It's only showing 14 achievements available for 230 points total instead of 50 for 1000. The achievements I unlocked in game that aren't on the list don't stay on my account after I turn the machine off. Today I put in another new game, and the achievements weren't accessible from the Xbox button quick menu. Left the game to go look at them from my recently played list and it's only showing 12 achievements for a total of 210 being possible. WTF? Has anyone had this before?
Edit - Xbox support had me recover my Gamertag and that seemed to fix the issue. No idea what caused it to happen.

Huh? Works on my other computer. Can't figure out why I can't connect on the laptop to that site when everything else works (i.e. majornelson.com works, but links to bum sites onxbox.com. Anyway, never mind previous post.

So I just happened to look at my Rewards status and was shocked, SHOCKED!, to see that I have 220 points pending. 20 for a December survey that I did and 200 for renewing my membership on 12/22/2010.
Now, I've never renewed my membership directly through Microsoft. They don't have a credit card number or anything and I haven't added time to my account (via pre-paid code) in six months or so. Not only that, but apparently the reward for a 12-month renewal is only 100 points.
While confused, I'm not complaining. Maybe you guys should check to see if you've been grandfathered in to something.

I got the 200 also, with a date of 12/20.
Based on my Live expiration date right now (12/20/2012), it looks like if you enter codes, you get points based on when your year is actually needed, not when you enter the code. For example, I entered the code a few months ago, but my old subscription time didn't run out until December 20th. Thus the two years that I entered a few months ago didn't actually start until 12/20.

You should de-mod yourself for my XMas present.
