Actually it's Iowa City. About 30 miles from me. Crazy that I'd been listening to them for years and now they have this odd direct connection.

We may be off topic.

Brent L gets the credit for clueing me in to the fact that Don is back on the air.

So how about that Kinect, huh? That's gonna be cool, right? Right?

is there anyway to not "update" a game and still be connected to XBOX Live after update prompt?

i am trying not to install a patch and when i say "no to update" i am disconnected to Live. therefore, when i get in game my current save file and downloaded content isn't there obviously.

i want to say no to update and then connect so i can use my current save file. i've tried unplugging from modem and then replugging, etc...

thanks for some more help.

Why can't you update and use your old save file?

^ i don't want to update the game bc it fixes a glitch that i want to try out.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

No because patches are meant to keep the online playing field level. If the developer fixes a glitch or exploit, all players have to have the same version of the game to play. It doesn't matter if you're playing in single player mode.

No latest == No online.

A lot of these are found on the dashboard. The event was under some NBC thing. Beats was under DJ hero/Hp something. Madden is in-game.

Oh yeah. And they're on CAG. :-)

Well TL, thank you just the same. Seriously, if I win any of these and there was a way to gift you a percentage, I would totally do it :D

Special Edition Fable 3 Controller comes out 10/3. It's supposed to resemble the crown of Albion, apparently. It also comes with a downloadable code for an exclusive tatoo for your character. It's pricey at $59.99 and the last thing I need is another wireless controller, but it is nice looking.

Me too. I seen the picture yesterday and thought this had to be the ugliest controller ever.

Okay, maybe it's an ugly pattern. I like the color, though.

It's not bad. But at $60 bucks, no way in heck. Wake me up when it's about $25 and I'll consider it. Perhaps. (They really could have done better though)

+1

Color scheme is solid, it's the pattern that is ugly as sin.

Thanks. That puts me up to 3 text messages sent a day. I am going to be a little sad if I don't win at least one of them.

I've got a question for some of you all. I'm over at my friend's house and he's playing a little Red Faction right now. He's online and we see other people sign in and what-not, but he appears offline to everyone else. Through the dashboard and even through xbox.com, he's offline.

We checked the preferences for the his status and it's set to "Online", not "Appear Offline" so it's bizarre. He deleted me as a friend and re-added, but no change. It's connected wirelessly via the official adapter and a test of the network settings showed no issues with NAT or firewalls or anything.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Pinata you could try this pull up the mini dash by pressing the "x" button, then go to profile, edit profile, privacy settings, online status and make sure it's set to everyone.

Quick question, I had to send my 360 to the shop and I'm considering buying a new black model. Will my old harddrive attach to the new one?

Nope. But you can use the transfer cable to transfer all the content over.

Soooooo.... College football season is about to kick off and there's been zero talk of when ESPN360 will launch. I predict a failure of epic proportions.

 I've been thinking about that for a few days but didn't want to be the jackass asking when it will launch.

Well that sucks. I was going to buy a new 4GB console and figured I could use my old 100GB drive on it. That sucks.
