re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Quick question: the new 4gb Xbox... is the 4gb built in like a flash drive? Or if you upgrade to whatever hard drives are released, do you have to remove the 4gb?

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
My 360 died last night. I put in a repair request, apparently it was under warranty through September 14th.
I'm definitely looking at getting one of those new sleek ones. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Does anyone have a spare 48 hour Live trial card? Or know what games came with one recently? I'm in a bit of a pinch here...

Buh, do they not sell the rechargeable battery packs separately anymore?
I think one of mine is dead (and it really wasn't used that much). |

They're really hard to find. I happened on a few at a local Toys R Us last year, as my two that I had just stopped holding charges completely. I think you can find 3rd party ones, but no idea what happened to the MS ones.
I've transitioned now to using a wired controller for most of my gaming (I got it to use for my PC) and regular old batteries for the few times we need the other controllers. |

Of course, if you already have one (or two, in my case).. that's not nice. :( |

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I just use rechargeable AAs.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I have one of these. "InCharge for XBOX 360". I think I got it from ThingFling or Dell or some other deal site one day for like $8. Charging cradle and 2 battery packs.

Where is the best place to get replacement power supplies? I was gifted a launch 360, but it doesn't have a power brick. How much do they run?

Yeah, another vote for rechargeables. Why pay more for a battery that only works in one device?

Back to the AAs I guess. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I use rechargeable AA's for most everything else, but it's nice to have a battery pack ready to just snap in when you need to since I often times find myself hunting for spare rechargeables, or realizing some weren't charged, or pulling them out of other devices

http://cdn.overstock.com/images/products/P11325803.jpg I normally would use rechargeable AA's myself, but I eventually found getting them in and out of the Xbox battery back to be a bit cumbersome. This charger is great -- I just wish the light would go out when it's done rather than blinking. |

Xbox 360 Top LIVE Titles (based on UU's)
Kinda of sad that more people are playing last year's Madden than this year's NCAA. And CoD: World at War is still that popular? |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I've been playing WaW lately. I picked it up at Gamestop when they had it cheaper.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I was playing an exciting game of Carcassone last night and noticed that entire groups on my friends list were playing COD:WaW. Is there some memo I didn't get?

So here's a link some people might appreciate:
This is a link to yesterday's Don Geronimo radio show (if you don't know Don Geronimo, he does non-political, non-sports talk radio and would be in the same geenral category as Howard Stern, though he's very different from Stern) http://khtk.cbslocal.com/2010/08/12/...ugust-12-2010/ Anyway, click on Segment #1 and jump to 11:30 (or just listen that far) and you'll hear Don's tale of going on XBLA to play Madden and running into one of those poser kids who likes to call everyone a mother-fucker. |

And, I hate that the light blinks when it is fully charged rather than staying lit or turning off all together. Hope they make a black one soon too! |

I tried again, still gave me the Text Message error...weird. Oh well, I guess I don't care anymore.
I'm new to texting anyways. I hit Reply, typed my GT in. I even typed it in case sensitive, since mine is DJ DoubleDown |

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Yeah, I grew up with Don & Mike too and absolutely love them. Don's been back for about a month -- I actually read about it in Otter (can't remember who posted and I'm too lazy to go back and check, but thanks whoever you are.
So -- the scoop is that Don is now on noon until 4 on KHTK in Sacramento, and if you're outside Sacramento, you can listen via the internet live, listen via the webstie after the fact, or download the shows via iTunes. Mike is doing mornings on 105.9 in DC which streams via the website (but is not straight talk -- he plays music, too) and also does a daily 1-hour podcast with Buzz, Rob, and Oscar Santana (formerly of the Big O and Dukes show). The podcast is available via www.mikeomearashow.com and via iTunes, and is also syndicated to KCJJ, a Cedar Rapids, IA radio-station. Both Don and Mike are, IMO, as good as they ever were, and while I miss the interaction of the two of them, they are both doing some awesome stuff separately. |
