huh? what do you know about that. i actually never really look at it. i use the remote to turn it on and never really approach it except to change game discs every few months.

i flipped the two 'memory unit' doors on front but didn't even notice the other next to the power button. thanks.

Seriously.

Just poke around at it. Touch it a little and explore the unit. You won't hurt it or go blind and you might discover some new neat slots.

I've thought for months now that the retarded zombie baby avatar is perfectly suited to the content it typically appears with.

I know, I'm sorry. I don't really think you're a retarded zombie baby, although at times some of these questions of yours do make me wonder.

I'd be careful in deleting installs scott. I just removed the install on Wolverine and it erased my saves! I finished it so no biggie but it would've been nice to go back and play on hard mode later on.

So make sure to delete the install separately from the saves.

I always delete my installs by using the deletion suggestions thing from the hard drive. Since that sorts by size, the installed games are always at the very top of the list and completely separated from the saves and whatever else is associated with that particular game. That's the safest way I've found to do it, and I've never accidentally deleted anything that way.

I delete installs not from the hard-drive menu, but from the game-list menu in the "my xbox" section.

I went to my xbox section to delete. It had the option to delete from Hard Drive, chose it and that's when i went into memory section and found the whole game was missing.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

I sent my xbox in for repair two Saturdays ago. They got it on Wednesday, and sent me an email saying it's shipped out to me this past Saturday. I should be back up and running by next Wednesday or Thursday. I'm pretty happy with that turn around time, though I'm pretty sure I'm getting a refurbed machine. It's crazy to say, but I will be happy if it lasts 2 years.

i've actually been running Halo 3 from the hard drive, found no real load problems, but i have loaded up the game only to find that it starts from the beginning of the game. my heart sinks.

i then turn off and go through menu selections of game and it says "resume solo campaign" i click and thankfully it starts from where i left off. i went phew. that happened a couple times now and makes me kinda nervous.

do you see separate places for game and saves in the memory section so i know which is which when i finish the game, want to delete from HD, but still keep saves?

Yeah, I agree. I'm fully expecting my Zephyr Refurb to fail at some point in the next 2 to 3 years. As a matter of fact, the cd drive sounds a bit "off" to me but since I install all my games maybe I'll get some extra time with it.

But as long as MS keeps fixing it for free we're Good.

Dude, just do it from the Game Library. DON'T delete your installs from the Memory Section. This way ONLY deletes the game install and nothing else.

Delete Games on Your NXE Xbox 360

What YOU need to know...

To delete a saved game that you've installed to the hard drive:

1. Go to My Xbox and open Game Library.
2. Select the game.
3. Select Delete from Hard Drive, then select Delete.

You can also see a complete list of content (including games, add-ons, videos, and more) that you've savedto your hard drive or memory unit. This list is helpful if you want to free up space by deleting content that you aren't using anymore.

Uh oh, I hope I didn't just wipe out my Oblivion saves by doing it via the memory section.

You can do it from the memory section if you want, you just have to make sure you go into the folder for the game and not just delete the whole folder.

I did that exact thing for wolverine and it ended up erasing everything. I always did that for every game without a problem. From now on I'm gonna go to the memory section and delete it separately. Maybe Wolverine is the one exception but i'm gonna play it safe.

Sadly, I'll be out of warranty come this fall. So the next time it goes up, it's on me. By then the Arcade units should be $150. That or the next consoles will be getting ready to roll out.

My 2nd 360, which is almost 2 years old, has started freezing indiscriminately - I sense a RROD coming on.

OK thanks, that's what I did. Granted, I'll probably be so confused by the time I go back to Oblivion that I'll need to start over anyway.
