re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Really? I thought all launch 360s would have failed by now. Or maybe they all at least needed to get a fix after the RROD.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Nope. My brother and him are still rocking non RROD launch units.

I'd rather they justify having a limit at all or why it has to be flash. Let me attach a portable 3TB drive to it and be on my way.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Does anyone know exactly what this means?
"Hard Disk Drive will only fit for xbox360 with 1.6 version, not compatible to 1.5 version" I'm looking on Ebay to get a larger hard drive for an older 360, not the slim version. I don't want to by another flash drive and will finally bite the bullet as it looks like 250GB hard drives can be had for pretty cheap now, about $50. However a couple of the auctions state this. |

Although this might change my mind. Some pretty good deal out there this Black Friday so might just get some 32's.

Asked if the Xbox flash drive storage limit had officially increased from 16GB to 32GB during the most recent Xbox Live update, a Microsoft spokesperson told us, "Yes. The more our customers use their profile and download digital content, the larger the file size necessary to store that content and move it between consoles gets. Therefore we increased the size of the memory to enable our customers to take more of their Xbox profile with them on the go." |

You can do that or you can check Gamestop. You can inspect the drive before you buy and you can always return it if there's a problem.

Received my helmet for being elite, VIP or something....
What's more, YOU are among the elite Xbox LIVE members. Collect this EXCLUSIVE helmet for your Avatar − free − and show other gamers how special you are. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Same here. Didn't realize I've been a Live member for 10 years now. Time flies.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I wish you could look up when you first joined LIVE. I'm pretty sure I wasn't a day 1 member but I am pretty sure I joined within the first month. I still recall getting my kit in the mail along with my much anticipated copy of the Buffy game. I think for the next 30 days I'll just check my profile to see when it switches over from 9 to 10.

Damn, I wish I had properly linked up my old account to my 360 one. :(

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I really can't rag on MS for this giveaway but it seems a little weird to include componetns that 10 year subscribers on LIVE have been using that entire time. They should of given these people consoles, huge HDDs and codes for every single Arcade game on the Marketplace.

Congrats on spending $500 on a live subscription in that 10 years. Here's a $1 digital avatar helmet!

Goes real nice with my 2% rebate for 25 full retail game's worth of achievements. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I'm sorry but why does MS owe us anything? I'm a 10 year subscriber and am glad to get anything. A free console sounds ludicrous.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
They don't, but their attempts ring hollow.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Exactly. Trying to celebrate 10 years by giving out avatar props is a joke. Might as well just let the anniversary slip by and none would be the wiser. As long as were talking about giving away digital items worth approximately $0, why not toss a month of Live or 400 points out there? It costs them nothing in the long run.
Also, I think the helmet is going to more people than 10 year people. I'm probably 6 months shy of 10 years. But yeah, I don't expect anything but an avatar helmet is just a slap in the face. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Is it possible to send someone the avatar helmet? I would buy it off of someone for $50.
|
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
Yeah, it's just a code...
... and you must be joking. |
re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines
I deleted the code they sent me through Live by error. Thankfully they also sent me the code through email.
Oh, they just sent me another message to my Xbox, let me go check... Well, they didn't like that I deleted the message, so they sent it again. Funny thing is that's the same code they emailed yesterday, and that I redeemed. |
