Then why make Epic Mickey a Wii exclusive? That game looks truly amazing and will certainly give me pangs of regret. I think they know that they can make quality original games Hardcore players would like and want to own (just not FPS games or very mature shooters), they just largely choose to ignore that market and coast in their comfort zone instead.

Batman is my game of the year. Followed by Uncharted.

Batman is the most fun I've had with a game since Bioshock. Only game that I have gotten 1000/1000 (not counting the launch titles that gave you 1000 for beating the game). When I first tried a challenge room, I thought there was no way I'd be able to get a score that high, but the combat was so gratifying that I put in the work to get those scores. No game has ever made me want to perfect it.

Nintendo doesn't care too much if it's not included in GOTY lists. Other than MW2 and a couple of Xbox titles, software sales were full of Nintendo, games published and developed by Nintendo.

Maybe list them underneath the cross-platform awards. Something has to be the best Wii game of the year.

I don't even remember what came out this year.

I'd say Borderlands, inFamous, Ghostbusters, MLB 09, Dragon Age: Origins, Assassin's Creed. Not in that order, mind you.

Wouldn't want to take away from all the PS3 and Uncharted love, huh.

rotfl

Borderlands for me as far as single player experience. Multiplayer has to go to Red Faction, hands down.

Uncharted 2 was really great, but the longevity of my other two picks easily put them on top for me.

Oh....and of course 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand beats them all. ;) You steal the crystal skull that Fitty got as payment for his concert and you're in for a world of hurt.

Same as I did in 2007, when I was all about Mario Galaxy.

You won't see Playstation Magazine either...which I think gave UC2 a 101/100 or something.

With all this praise for Borderlands those guys really need to put out a demo.

Also, what's Undecided? If it's got that much praise here, it's gotta be good.

Finally, my pick: Dragon's Age: Origins.

GOTY for me is easily Batman: AA. Every now and again a game comes along that feels like it was tailor made for me, and Batman was that game for me. It's going to be one of the few games I keep so that I can play it over and over.

Uh...the same thing happened that's happened for the past two years. I start with good intentions of spending time with something else but always go back to playing Picross for 3 hours. I SUCK!

For me, Game of the Year should be innovative in some way. I can't think of one game I played this year that qualifies.

I'm  at all the Uncharted 2 votes.

So you're saying that no game should be Game of the Year?

Here I was thinking that a game that looks amazing, is exciting, funny, cinematic yet very interactive and with a very solid multiplayer game component deserves praise, when all along I was clearly wrong because it's not "innovative"? Silly me.

BTW : Here's you're Game of the Year

Re: 2009 Game of the Year (GOTY) thread

I haven't played Uncharted 2 yet due to my backlog, but my vote goes to Batman:AA. It was an awesome game, and surpased its expectations. I loved the way the cinemas did not pull you out of the story, and the scarecrow sections ere unbelievably awesome.
