Re: The Saboteur

I know I'm late to this particular party, but this game kicks all sorts of ass. Great story and very good controls. I think climbing is 10x easier than in Assassins Creed.

Re: The Saboteur

I love reading comments like the last two.

I know that the studio doesn't exists anymore but I would love to see another game.

Yeah, it's too bad Pandemic shut down. I too would have loved a sequel.

Re: The Saboteur

(This is related, trust me, just read )
Welp, as it turns out I saw a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 LE (also EA Game) over at Gamestop used. And I was looking at it, and noticed that the download card for the exclusive maps/online mode expired on December 31st. Then I started think about my games and that sometimes it takes me months to open them. So I'm looking through my games and actually had to open a few of them cause I thought that might be the case. Then my hands came over my copy of Saboteur.

Oh crap, it's an EA game and it has the Midnight Show content that you can download for free if you bought it new. Open it up and yeah it says December 31st. Hrmmm, so of course I rush over to the console, throw in the game and load it up. Luckily, the code still worked and I was able to download the pack. But for those who might buy the game new in the future or have an unopened copy sitting around, you might want to go ahead and use that code just in case.

Re: The Saboteur

Thanks for the heads up. My copy is still unopened as well, so I'll have to make sure and do the same tomorrow.

I really hate when companies do this. It's the same way with digital copies with movies. It's almost like false advertising since most of the time it doesn't mention an expiration date on the outside of the box. You only find out its expired once you open it.

Re: The Saboteur

Thanks Kedrix. I opened my sealed copy that I had bought months ago on clearance and the code was still valid as well.

Re: The Saboteur

Definitely an under-appreciated game. I enjoyed it. It has some issues, but it's pretty good. Well-worth picking up for a low price.

Re: The Saboteur

I regret selling it. I am definitely going to pick it up again and do more of the freeplay while I go through the single player.

Re: The Saboteur

You should at least get all the achievements. A lot of fun.

I cleaned up all the map too.

Re: The Saboteur

I played the PC version. Which can be had on amazon for under $10. They have it both on disc, and digital download.

I missed the EA deal by a couple of hours. That would have been clutch.

Re: The Saboteur

I didn't know there was a PC version. I was getting interested and trying to search for mods and that kind of stuff, until I read that the game has severe issues with ATI cards

From Amazon:
This game's producer (Pandemic) has since gone out of business, due in large part to the game's compatibility issues with ATI's drivers; there is a "beta patch" available, but as far as I can tell, support ended about 2 months after it came out. Long story short, I am stuck with 6.7 GB of "Saboteur.exe has stopped working" and EA's tech support, who really couldn't care less. Great idea, terrible execution.
Let me continue Googling about this. BTW the game costs $8.76 in Amazon, that's why I got interested on playing it again.

Re: The Saboteur

I got mine off amazon digital download. I played it on an ATI radeon 5770 card. It was fine.

Picked this up along with Dante's Inferno (PS3) for $10 each. Started it today. A couple hours in an I'm enjoying it so far. As everyone has said, the driving isn't quite polished--in fact all the controls feel a little loose, but it's fine. Going for 1000/1000.

Re: The Saboteur

I finished the main story this weekend and loved this game from start to finish. There's no way I'll get all the freeplay targets but I had a blast with this one!

Re: The Saboteur

Just ordered this from Amazon since they had it for 18 bucks and I had a $20 credit from Killzone 3. Looks like I'm in for a pleasant surprise!

I bought this (4 bucks at a Half Price Books, BTW) and the ATI bug is bad. The draw rate really suffers, and when I got to the end of the second act
Spoiler:
when you race in Paris
, the bug made it impossible to complete the mission. Get it for PC if you have a nVidia card, otherwise, stay away.

Did you get the latest patch?

It isn't that hard. I thought the same but was able to complete everything. I mean, if you really loved the game they should come really easy.

I'd probably do it if the rocket launcher had more capacity. I have a backlog of games as well... and last but not least, Fight Night Champions comes out tomorrow, The Show next week, Homefront the week after and Crysis 2 the week after that. This is going to be a very busy month.

Re: The Saboteur

Yeah, I ended up getting the 1000/1000 about a week ago. I think I clocked 60 hours when it was all said and done, but I played stealth at least ¾ of the time. I really liked the game... I mean, I even collected all the vehicles just for the fun of it, even though I had already unlocked the in-game perk.
