hmm, I'm wondering if it's really worth it to spend 20 bucks just to finish all the freeplay targets (I've beaten the game)

Of course, the day after I order it on EA's website, Amazon and Gamestop drop the price. Oh well, I can't wait to play this finally.

For anybody who shops NewEgg, they also have it for $19.99 with free shipping. And for the record, their free shipping is a lot faster than Amazon's traditional free shipping. Might finally pick this up as well.

EA sent my copy via free 2nd Day Air. Then they sent me an email that they had yet to recieve payment for my order and have cancelled it.
The order shows as completed and shipped via their website, so I think that email was just a glitch. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Re: The Saboteur
Yeah, I ordered on Saturday and received it on Wednesday.
Well, after 9 hours of play time I'm really liking this game. I'm playing on Normal and let me tell you it's not easy, it's not hard either, but you have to plan every mission and be very careful. I think the story is really engaging and the music/soundtrack is really good, one of my favorite things about this game.
I think I'm halfway in the main story.

you can check your progress on the stats menu.
Has anyone completed all the free play targets? I'm at 80%
Unforunately I will not be able to get 100% no matter what because some areas of the game with free play targets aren't accessible unless you're doing one of the story missions. For example at the end when you are at Dierker's factory, blow all that shit up before you escape! You won't have a chance again

Re: The Saboteur
I completed all the ambient targets, minus one or two. No idea why I spent the time to do it, it was just fun for me to run around and blow stuff up.
I'm pretty sure you can go back to areas where you've missed targets and clean them up (even if they were in a mission). I missed several in Doppelsieg (sp?) and went back after the main story to wrap them up.

Re: The Saboteur
Not sure what to tell you then. I know I had no problem getting into Doppelsieg or any of the other mission areas to finish up freeplay targets I had missed. The only two or three I missed (and I didn't need to get them to get all the achievements) were in the country-side.

Re: The Saboteur
Just to let you folks know via the Amazon thread, but Saboteur is $17.99 on both Amazon & Newegg. I finally bit. There shouldn't be any problem with getting the free content now as opposed to @ release as long as I have a new copy right?

17.99 4 months after it came out? Wow they are practically giving away this very solid game. I've already beaten everything and even I'm tempted to buy it because of that price.

Same, I'm tempted to get the PS3 version and run through it again even though I already did everything on 360.

Re: The Saboteur
Yeah, I've read reviews from "professional" reviewers and from users complaining about a few things.
For example some say climbing is kind of awkward, I played AC2 for a long time, one of my favorites game, and yeah it's better but I find the climbing in The Saboteur perfectly normal. Some people also complained that controls in general are not good, how you control your character, and again, nothing bad for me. Standard like any other sandbox game.
Most of the complains, even here, were about driving, and again, I've played a couple of GTA games and the driving feels the same or even better. Just get a good car. They are actually good at showing difference performance between cars.
In another forum some people complained about the free play, that you couldn't destroy anything because then the Nazis would be after you, and you had to run. Duh!
I decided to finish the game last night, so I will collect a few achievements the rest of the week, and then think on what else to play. For me this game is a solid 8/10, maybe a 9 if you are a big sandbox fan.

Re: The Saboteur
I finished the game in 27 hours. 12% or so of free play completed. In case anyone is wondering. So yeah, it's kind of short in the main story compared with other games of this kind.

Re: The Saboteur
I didn't just beat the story in a few hours and then spend the rest of the time taking out free play targets, I typically stopped along the way to a mission objective anytime a free play target came up and took care of it (yes I stopped alot haha)

Re: The Saboteur
I think I ended up at right around 35 hours and 99% of the free play targets. Really enjoyed it start to finish and it's very rare that a game can hold my attention for that long these days.

Re: The Saboteur
The same here (just waiting on my copy from NewEgg). There is no way (barring a really weak moment) I would have bought this game if it wasn't for what went on in this thread. I actually want to play it when I get it which is something I'm famous for not doing. (*sigh* *looks at pile of shame*)
