I doubt Rock Band 3 is releasing in February, but it will probably be 1st or 2nd quarter.

Whatever month that is is the best gaming month of the year, but not of the ever.

Bioshock is a definite buy, but you forgot to list one major title...Splinter Cell: Conviction. Love the Splinter Cell games!

Mass Effect 2 is at the end of January I believe, that will also be a purchase.

Watch out, some of those might get delayed.

I somewhat doubt that this "will make history for sure." I'd be fairly surprised to see it pop up in any future textbooks.

Maybe somebody could setup the "February Fail" thread now so it's ready to go.

Make sure to put in Shagrath's feelings about the HMX fail for not putting some pantera out on Dimebag Darrell's death day, or something equally as newsworthy dealing with dimebag.

I have a mild interest in Bioshock 2, but that's about it. January for ME2 is more appealing to me.

This is the best site to check out for updates on when we can actually expect Heavy Rain.

Maybe I can do a "5th Year anniversary of the death of Dimebag Darrell and me not giving a shit" thread.

I say we just merge this thread, with your Dimebag thread as well as a thread for "February Delays = Terrible Gaming Month Ever!" thread. Might as well get it all out of the way in a single thread.

If you played the original AvP games, this is pretty similar, just way better graphics.
That is very good news imo. I just hope it hits at a time when some other major online FPS interest is waning a little bit so it actually gets a following. I played the original PC one to death and loved it. I played a mean mean Alien in multiplayer.

Sadly enough i would totally check that out... of course i would wonder if there would be a level set in NYC at The Dakota.

I think that may be the case. We have been hearing about Heavy Rain almost as long as about Alan Wake.

From what I played, the Alien seemed to control pretty much the same way as the previous games. You could "hiss" to try to lure enemies to you, was pretty funny.

I enjoyed the Predator quite a bit, you could use his cloak ability to play very stealth-like, but I didn't have too many weapons, just his claws and the pulse cannon thingie. Oh, and melee was really badass with him.

Graphics were very, very impressive. I only played it in DX9 mode because of a certain someone's graphics drivers sucking ( ). From what I have heard, the DX11 mode is of course even more impressive. Only odd thing is that there were basically no graphical settings, and I couldn't find an ini file to hand edit them. Only thing you could change was resolution and brightness, but I can't imagine that not changing by release.

Can't say I'm interested in any of those games.

Rock Band 3 has not even been officially announced, all we know is that Harmonix is working on another Rock Band (whether that's RB3 or another band game). It will be coming fall at the EARLIEST, I wouldn't be surprised to see them stretch it out longer then that.

I'm not overwhelmed by these games. Just bring on March and Final Fantasy.

Re: Feb. 2010 = Great Gaming Month Ever!

For now I've got three games on my must have list in th early part of 2010...

Army of Two: 40th Day - Jan 12 date
Bioshock 2 - Feb ?
Alien vs Predator - Feb ?

I think the AVP game can be a winner especially if the game continues to advance beyond what few trailers we've seen. They clearly show the DEVs have captured the look. I played the PC game, AVP2 when it came out and frankly it was just downright scarry and on the edge gaming.

Re: Feb. 2010 = Great Gaming Month Ever!

Splinter Cell is in Feb as well...most likely a GOTY contender.

Dead Rising 2 is next fall....

God of War 4 is in 3 years

Confirmed so far:

Bioshock 2

White Knight Chronicles

Dante's Inferno

Possible Feb. releases:

Heavy Rain

Alien vs Predator

Singularity

Lost Planet 2

Then Final Fantasy XIII and Bad Company 2 in March, God of War 4 in April!
Since I suspect that most of the possible Feb. releases will get pushed I would hardly call the confirmed list a deluge, but that's just me. I'd hate to see you get your hopes too high for what's to come if past threads are any indication.

If that's confirmed that would change things some.

If whats confirmed? Splinter Cells date? its been 2-23-09 for a few months now. As for the GOTY contender...we shall see. It took most of the E3 awards and looks amazing...and I generally dislike Splinter Cell and all stealth games. I've had mine paid off since summer

Every one of the previous games in the Splinter Cell series have been great...when it gets released it will have been what, 5 years since the last one? too long a wait!

What about Mass Effect 2?
