Avengers Chronicles, Marvel Virtue and Vengeance and the most recent Star Wars pack are each $10 for 4 tables and give you a lot of bang for your buck.

Of the available Zen originals, epic Quest ($2.99) is by far the best. I could play that table forever.

You're not on my friends list? Well you are now. Prepare to get double doubled. Or something.

Sweet. I'll start with Star Wars and go from there. This just seems like a good way to kill time when I don't want to play something else. I wish I had gotten into it on the 360.

You're a terrible person.

For what it's worth, I absolutely felt the lag you guys mentioned when using the bumpers. I don't notice it at all using the triggers, but since those have extra travel distance/time, maybe that's part of it.

Anyway... try updating your controllers?

I have updated controllers and felt the lag with the bumpers and triggers. It's just not crisp... and it's a VERY minor lag... but its there.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I think a bigger problem than controller lag is the weird split second pausing the game will do every so often. Ball is coming straight down toward you, then it hitches for just a moment, throwing off your timing.

Yes, it's something us lowly non-master race people have to do.

Is this question going to come up every time there's a controller update? I've updated my controllers 3 or 4 times now. I hate it, but it's better than a complete lack of improvement, I guess.

No XO or PS4 to know about the trials and tribulations you must endure.

They only notify you when you plug in the headset adapter. Why? Because they're idiots

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I don't even know HOW to do a firmware upgrade on the controller. I'm assuming it would prompt me at some point, but I don't ever recall seeing one.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Oh, I'm with you. There's never been a specific prompt that I needed to update except the first time I plugged in my headset adapter, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, I just randomly go into the settings and hit "Update Controller." Usually, it just says NOPE, but just yesterday, I ran it again and there was an update. There's no indication of firmware version, changes, etc.

There's literally no way to know that a controller update is available unless you manually check, and it will either start updating, or tell you there is no update.

Decker, I'm not sure if plugging in the adapter will prompt it for every update, or just that first update. Also... I think the adapter itself gets an update in that case. (I know... I know...)

flashburn: Plug it in, go to settings, then System. On the left-hand side, you'll see "Update Console" either white or grey, and "Update Controller" which is always white. Select it, then select OK. It'll check then if it needs the update and auto-install, or it will tell you it's fine.

You cannot update a controller wirelessly, because of battery life. They don't want you to brick it.

I think it's every time. That's the only time I ever update it. And there have been a few updates so far.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Well dang. I have only updated the controller once for that very first one. Looks like I need to look into it more often now.

So, those achievements work properly now in FX2.

So does an updated controller fix the lag issue in this game? I suspect not.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

There's a "Pinball Arcade Sale" now in the PSN Store. The PS4 Season 1 bundle is $14.99, S1 Pro Bundle is $19.99 and the Pro Upgrade for S1 is $9.99. On the PS3/Vita, the S1 Bundle and Pro Bundles are also $14.99/$19.99 but the Pro Upgrade is $4.99 instead.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

PS4 pack with Ripley's, ToM, and Black Hole is also free. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the discounted packs for people that own all of S1 are on sale, last week other regions also had those on sale for half off
