The Pinball Arcade title update is now live on Xbox. No actual DLC yet but it should be there any time now.

Xbox clusterfuck continues. First two packs of DLC show up in game, but trying to purchase them leads to nowhere. Also, there's an optional update that, if you select to download, only goes to 99% before saying it doesn't exist.

For those of you that haven't given up on the Xbox version, the first 2 packs are finally up.

Nice, it's a start at least.

Of course something else had to go wrong with the release, the tables are up, but achievements aren't up on xbox.com yet.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I think it's tied with the update to the first 4 tables, that isn't downloadable yet. They said that should be fixed tomorrow. Not sure what the deal with that is, but if you try downloading it now, it just fails at 99%.

Jcheckel 08-01-12 05:18 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I think the achievements problem is just Microsoft hasn't put them up yet, because they do pop in game. I guess there's only one achievement per table, and it's the one for getting a score on the scoreboard.

flashburn 08-01-12 05:28 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Yeah, you're right. I just tried it and did get an achievement and noticed the other 3 are there as well. Wonder if it's going to be another 4 month wait to get the other 4 tables? Realistically I'm guessing we should get them in a few weeks or so.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I gotta say, the physics on the new tables are damn near perfect. They aren't floaty at all like the original 4 tables are. Hopefully that patch tomorrow also fixes those (or maybe the previous title update did). I think this upcoming patch is specifically called out as a lighting update, so I'm not sure.

This is great to hear. If true, it does validate what I've been saying in their defense in this preservation effort. Obviously creating the tables is the hard part; the physics and ball reactions is all emulation.

Was at a classic pinball expo last weekend. Here's a video in case anyone's interested in seeing what one of these things looks like.

Awesome, thanks. Gonna have to have my Dad come along too, he'll be excited.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

The old tables in Pinball Arcade don't seem floaty any more either.

I'm having a bug now where it keeps asking me to purchase/redownload DLC pack 2 after already buying it, and redownloading it isn't fixing the issue. So... yeah. I've read other people having this issue come and go. Seriously, Farsight can't code for shit.

On a positive note, 360 leaderboards and achievements work now.

Finally, some news!

Zen Pinball 2 will release on September 4, 2012 on PlayStationŽNetwork for PS3 and PS Vita! We know you have all been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Zen Pinball 2, and to make this launch even sweeter, the PopCap table we’ve been working on is going to release as DLC on the same day! Zen Pinball 2 will launch with TONS of great features, many of which were suggested by our community:

• Any Zen Pinball or Marvel Pinball content purchased previously, today or in the future will enjoy PS3 and PS Vita cross-platform entitlement! Buy it once and get it on both devices at no extra charge!

• New social competition features, such as simultaneous online multiplayer competition, split-screen multiplayer, friend scoreboards, worldwide scoreboards and more!

• Free trials of every table so players can try before they buy

• All Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball tables have received graphics and physics updates and new trophies

• Also—Zen Pinball 2 is totally FREE! Simply download it and import your tables from Zen Pinball and/or Marvel Pinball. You can also purchase any tables you don’t already own, as all 26 tables will be available at launch!

This PopCap mystery table will also be available for Pinball FX2 on Xbox 360 on September 5, 2012, and we will reveal the table in just a few weeks at PAX Prime! If you are going to PAX, make sure to stop by the PopCap booth where you will be able to play the table before it releases!

Which PopCap game is making its way into the world of pinball? Add your guess in the comments below!

As far as the Popcap game that is going to made into a Pinball table, I'm going with Plants vs Zombies. It seems to lend itself most to the format. Watch, it will be something silly like Peggle now. :)

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Well, I'm glad we finally have a release date for the Vita game. I'm really looking forward to getting that. I wonder how much memory it will take up to bring over all 15 (or 16 counting the Pop Cap one) tables I currently own on the PS3 to the Vita. I might need to buy a bigger memory card, but man are they expensive. In either case, having versions of those tables I can play during my lunch time or waiting for an appointment will be great. I'm tempted to re-buy some of the ones I have for FX2 just so I'll have a more complete set. At least I'll probably re-buy Epic Quest.

Pack #5 for Pinball Arcade will be Taxi and Harley Davidson.

So, according to my calculations, by the time they come out with Pack #14, they will have run out of Williams HoF tables to recycle into their bundles. That's something to look forward to.

I'll have to check out Harley Davidson -- don't think I've ever seen that table. When does Pack 3 hit PSN? I really liked that Universal Monster table when I tried it out on the iPad -- it's so good it'll get me to purchase the pack even though it includes that snooze-fest Gorgar table (which I'm sure has all sorts of great pinball historical value despite being boring to play).

No, it is not projected via mirror. The DMD is mounted there. It is also not difficult to read at all.

Gorgar and Monster Bash are available to download in Pinball Arcade on the Xbox 360.

Scratch that. Pulled from XBL.

I'm guessing that the Popcap pinball table is going to be Zuma.
