Really enjoying all the SW tables. Clone Wars is probably my favorite, but I seem to be a fan of those rampfest tables. I played a ton of World War Hulk.

UPDATE RELEASE DATES SET for Star Trek : The Next Generation, Attack from Mars and Genie on PS3 (NA/EU) and PS Vita (NA/EU)...plus, FarSight makes an OFFICIAL STATEMENT regarding the Xbox 360 publishing issues! • Table Add-On Pack #9 featuring Star Trek : The Next Generation should be available for PS3 (NA) and PS Vita (NA) on March 19th and PS3 (EU) and PS Vita (EU) on March 20th. • Table Add-On Pack #10 featuring Attack from Mars and Genie should be available for PS3 (NA) and PS Vita (NA) on March 26th and PS3 (EU) and PS Vita (EU) on March 27th. • FarSight's official statement on the Xbox 360 publishing issues is as follows : "We are still waiting for the bankruptcy judge to rule that the new publisher take over our original contract with Crave. That is what is holding the whole process up, and we don't know when they will because they keep telling us 'soon'. We are hoping for this to be settled and over with, as we want to put everything out on the 360 asap, not to mention the kickstarter backers that we owe tables to. Until the judge comes back and rules one way or the other, we're stuck in the middle." |

That really sucks for 360 owners. Must be so frustrating. I still don't understand why they have a different publisher on that system than on the PS3.
Glad I'll be able to pick up both these tables on PSN this month -- it'll put me over the $50 mark I need for the $10 rebate. |

Almost certain that Farsight will be self-publishing the game. In this recent interview with Bobby King, he referred to themselves as both a publisher and a developer when talking about TPA and future projects.
They are working on improving the physics more, including ball spin. They will be talking with Valve soon, and hope to have it up on Steam at some point (sounds like they are bypassing the Greenlight program, which is going to be discontinued soon anyway). Windows 8 Marketplace version will be coming soon as well. Not a whole lot other mentioned in the interview. Centaur is coming at some point later this year. On PS3 they self-publish, which MS doesn't allow. And I assume it costs too much for the smaller companies to become a publishing developer on Xbox. That's the same reason there isn't going to be a standalone Star Wars Pinball on Xbox, like the one coming to PS3, Pinball FX2 was published by MS, but they won't put out anything that's not some kind of exclusive.

Oh yeah, I forgot about their silly publishing rules. No wonder everyone's gung-ho on Steam and down on XBLA. Guess I didn't realize that PSN has different rules (since most games seem to come to both systems simultaneously).

I don't think anyone here actually cares, but Zen Pinball 2 for the Wii U is coming to the North American Store Thursday March 21.

I know I'm fundementally defective in pinball, but I'm wondering if there's something wacky about the functioning of Clone Wars table's ball save. Almost every time it is used, it seems to put the ball in the small gap between the flippers so I immediately lose the ball I just "saved". I've never had that particular problem on any other table. Anyone else experiencing that problem?

This ball save is weird, if you try to hit it on its way down, a lot of times I'd miss it and it would drain. I now let it bounce off the flippers and let it sit on the end and hit it from there.

Thanks again Kickstarters! I'd forgotten how fun Star Trek TNG was. What I like best about the table is how straightforward the goals are. I don't think I've ever seen a table where the missions were so easy to understand and reasonable to attain. Just played it a few times and really liked it. $5 well spent.
They did an update to Pinball Arcade that totally changes the front end of the game. Makes it look like an iPad game now. Ugly simplistic menus replace the Arcade look that used to be there. Everywhere you scroll they try to upsell you to the Pro Versions of the tables you already won (No Thanks!) as you scroll down past static images of the table backdrops. It might be functional (and easier to find current tournaments), but it sure is ugly. |

Anyone else get the newest Table Pack for PS3 & Vita? That Genie table feels really floaty and "off", like the ball physics are messed up or something (at least on the Vita; I was out of town last week). I like Attack From Mars though. I played that game at Pinball HoF recently and it plays pretty similarly here.

New Pinball Arcade pack for PS3 is out with Dr. Dude and Firepower. I'd give impressions on it, but of course we can't have any kind of Pinball Arcade release go smoothly, the patch allowing this pack and the next upcoming pack to be playable still hasn't been released.

In case anyone missed it in the PSN thread, The Pinball Arcade will be a PS Plus freebie for May. Any PS Plus member will get the full game (four tables) for both the PS3 and Vita for as long as you're a member. Of course any DLC tables purchased would only be playable as long as you were still in the PS Plus program (or if you later bought the full game) as they do it as a DLC model, as opposed to the free shell model that Zen Pinball uses.
I've purchased every table they offer (up to 24 now). I sort of like Dr Dude, though I still need to learn the table rules better. I can't get the Gazillion Point light to light, despite many attempts. It's pretty fun, I guess. Hate to be too critical, but I sort of hate Firepower. Huge gutters and not much to do on the table. Maybe I need more time on it, but it does nothing for me so far. |

BTW : It just occurred to me the best thing about getting these two games on Steam : Steam sales with 75% off DLC. That will save a fortune in the long run.

For anyone interested, I attended Pinfest 2013 this past weekend and got a chance to play Wizard of Oz. I have little interest in the movie, but damn that table is awesome! I also got to play the current build of Predator, which I enjoyed as well. I'm seriously considering getting one if timing works out. From what I've read, only 300 will be made, so I'm thinking this would be a decent investment. Anyone else have an opinion on the Predator table? |
