Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

Ms. Splosion Man Coming To Pinball FX 2

Two of the most innovative and frankly, borderline insane, developers have joined forces to fill this summer with as much 'Sploding as possible. Twisted Pixel, the mad geniuses behind Splosion Man and the upcoming Ms. Splosion Man have teamed with the pinball maestros Zen Studios, the team behind the superb Pinball FX 2. The fruit of this union? A Ms. Splosion Man table will be arriving this summer for Pinball FX 2. The overview, as provided by Zen Studios, of what we can expect:

*****
Set in the crazy labs of Big Science, the latest tests in experimental science have gone all wrong, and Ms. Splosion Man must splode her way through obstacles utilizing the latest in tech gadget innovation in her quest to free Splosion Man from the grips of evil scientists. Featuring plenty of interactive 3D characters and objects pulled directly from the Ms. Splosion Man game, players will complete sets of sploding missions and combos, culminating in a final battle with Mighty Eternal.

Additionally, there is a Pinball FX2 machine in the arcade area of Ms. Splosion Man, providing access directly to PFX2. If you are familiar with Comic Jumper, you know what I am talking about here.

Ms. Splosion Man is out next week on XBLA for 800 MSP's, so please support our friends at Twisted Pixel and check it out - I have played the game and it's worth the money!

Screen shots and video and video of the Ms. Splosion Man table will be revealed in the near future.

*****

The rough release window given for this table was "around PAX time." PAX Prime will be taking place August 26th to the 28th in Seattle, so we can expect more information to be rolling out in the next month. This particular Newshound is hoping for more cross-over tables in the future. Someone go get The Behemoth on the phone and get me a Castle Crashers table!

Ms. Splosion Man itself will be released next week for 800 MSP.
The pinball version of Ms. Splosion Man will be released later this summer for the Pinball FX 2 standard price of 240 MSP. With the usual 3 achievements worth 50 points of course, making Pinball FX 2 the first arcade title to surpass 1000 Gamerscore.

Dammit! They know I haven't bought in yet If there was a table I could break my 300M Mars tourney score, it's probably Spider-Man, at least judging from fro's score and love for that table.

Side note, I now own all the single tables in PFX2. Pretty soon I'll have no choice but to buy in to the remaining 12.

FX1 tables are supposed to be not so great compared to the FX2, if that gives you any motivation to hold off.

Other than that, the "core" tables are pretty good though. I'd rank them

4. Extreme
3. Speed Machine
2. Agents
1. Buccaneers

This x10.

Damn thing isn't even a table. It is two tiny fields with loops. So dumb.

Re: The Ultimate Pinball Thread

The Extreme table is very similar to the Black Knight table from Pinball: Hall of Fame, IMO.

I really liked Nightmare Mansion even though it's really, really simple.

Buccaneer isn't from the core pack.

I found a site someplace that basically showed each of the 3 original tables were almost completely copied from real tables. Not sure if the future tables were like that, but I don't think so.

It comes in the "Classic" pack, which I assumed was just the FX1 tables. Sorry I'm not as old school as you and didn't get into the virtual pinball thing until FX2 was around for a while.

Most of us have been playing since RB1 though.

I said I was sorry and applied the appropriate emoticon to my post as well.

Also, they're real life BFFs so they're allowed to hate/love each other. Whereas the rest of us just have hate/hate for each other, as per the Internet Communication Act of 1993.

Marvel: Virtue and Vengeance which is supposed a new 4-table pack is coming "Winter 2012". Not sure if Ghost Rider is part of that pack or a standalone. Or even if the pack is part of PFX2 (I imagine it is).

Also, some part of Zen's tables is coming to the PC.
