Strange. Are these Amazon codes only one per Amazon account? It allows me to generate another code, but it does not apply to any order after the first.

Weird. I did a couple orders with different codes and got it to work. Maybe generate a third code and see if that one does the trick?

Placed one order without difficulty.

Went back to place another because I'd forgotten to add Lego Rock Band... tried three different codes and none of them would apply. Is there some kind of new restriction?

That's what I got too.

I'm afraid to cancel the first and reorder with all of the games together because I'm afraid I'll lose my 10% on that as well.

Someone on the eca site said that this has happened before. That one time the codes were one time per account use until the eca had amazon fix them. We'll see how that works out.

I wonder what the ECA gets out of this. Do they just hope that everyone that signs up for free will forget to cancel or something? Are they compiling a bigger email list? Otherwise, giving out your membership for free (via a code that anyone can use) doesn't seem particularly smart.

Of course, I'm just bitter that I spent 20 bucks on this, and now I'm doubtful we'll ever have enough Amazon codes to go around.

The ECA is trying to establish itself as a big advocacy group. The more members it has, the more clout it has when lobbying for legislation, etc. By handing out free memberships, it can grow that roster even though 99% of the members are just there for the Amazon coupons and don't give a shit about the advocacy aspect.

That's there on my screen, but underneath it it says Click here to get a code, or something like that. I clicked and it worked.
