Re: Rock Band: The Official Thread

Those of you that ordered Lego RB from Amazon, you may want to email them to request a $3 refund for the price difference. I'm not sure what the official policy is on this, but I didn't have any problems getting it.

Really? I tried earlier today and they wouldn't do it because my order shipped yesterday (before official release date).

Who did you email and what did you say?

The Rock Challenges are so reminiscent of Elite Beat Agents to me with all the action and story going on behind the scenes, I just want to watch them! I need to make sure to fail each challenge too to see the alternate animation.

I've only done The Hives one thus far, but it was great! I loved all the shit blowin' up while I was playing the song. Lots of fun.

I just did the option to email about this order, and selected the category that was "promotions and refunds" or something like that.

The price on this has dropped to $43.99 on the release date. Since there is a release date price guarantee*, shouldn't I be getting a refund?

*= I may or may not of made up this release date price guarantee. I don't know the exact wording their site uses, but I took a guess at what it was called. Either that is indeed the guarantee, or they didn't bother to look up their own policy.

Also, the export is not an RB1-style rip, but a full download. So you either take the 45 songs, or you don't get any.

I'm on my way to your house right now. I'll be sure to grab Dragon Age while I'm there as well.

Whoa, really? That kinda sucks, but it's nice we'll be able to download w/o the disc in the future.

Son of a bitch! I'll be sure to steal it back (plus whatever else I can get my hands on) from your house on my way home from work then.

From the exchange here I'm assuming you'll be stealing at least a few kisses from each other.

It's not going to take a "couple of years" for RB3 to hit. It's coming out next year, I'm almost certain. However, it might take a couple years for people playing it to get good enough to consider themselves proficient "real" musicians.

Re: Rock Band: The Official Thread

Do we, as gamers, really want to see a fundamental change in the guitar controllers at this point, though?

I'm exporting now (very slowly). It has a screen like any other downloadable content, and not an in-game bar like we saw with RB1. I'll check after the download completes to see if it is 45 individual files or not.

That is the policy. Their wording:
if the Amazon.com price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price.
I shot them an email and was denied saying it will happen automatically.

On 360 and Wii it is. PS3 is still 46.99. PS3 users get screwed again.
