Tiger Woods 2010
This comes out in a couple of days. It normally comes out at the end of August or early September, but I guess they're releasing it now to use the U.S. Open hype to sell some copies. I always thought it was dumb that they released it at the end of golf season anyway. I'm excited for the Bethpage course and Oakmont. Looking at some previews, it looks like they might be finally offering more variety in the camera angles when you hit your shot (something Outlaw Golf did really well on the original XBox), and a new putting system. It looks like there will finally be some weather in the game as well, including changes during a single round.

I live right next to Oakmont CC so I'm excited about that one!! One cool feature is, if it's really raining at Pebble Beach, you play in the rain. All of the courses can be played in 'real-time' weather...awesome!!

Why are there NO reviews for this game when it's like two days before release?

I hated the new putting system. Probably something I can get used to, but I'm passing for now. I paid $15 for 2009 on 360 and that will tide me over until this one is cheap as well.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010
The only one I have seen released so far is Nintendo Power just rated it for the Wii in this month's Nintendo Power (I just got it in yesterday) and they gave it a 9.0 The Wii version is the one I am interested in due to the new MotionPlus device.
But I don't tend to trust NP's ratings that much but the reviewer says that the Wii MotionPlus accessory make the game "the most authentic sports video game I've ever played."
The biggest criticism the reviewer gives is that "my only real gripe is that the putting recommendations can be frustratingly inaccurate, making me want to throw my Wii Remote into the nearest lake."

Amazon has been having issues with their videogame division, the game was released as planned.

Sitting with $120 in EA store credit now, that game is very tempting. Would love to see some reviews first, though.

I bought both because of the EA Best Buy deal. I should have it tomorrow and will post comparisons for the people who are debating between Wii and 360.

well like most games, I'm sure there's a boycott on releasing reviews for the game until it releases like with Gears of War, Halo, etc.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010
So I was able to sneak in 15-20 minutes while I took a break from working. This is the first time I have purchased the Wii version instead of the 360 version, and have to admit the graphics were better than I thought they would be. I will also admit that I haven't exactly been the biggest fan of the Wii Remote in general because I've felt that the occassionally frustrating "WTF just happened!?" moment using it often overrides a lot of the good things it does. Having said that, Wii MotionPlus rocks in this game. It just FEELS like golfing, even down to my uncontrollable urge to kill the ball by swinging hard
The putting is gonna take some getting used to, but it will come. Overall, being able to adjust your hand to draw/fade and to accurately control the amount of your backswing just makes it feel so right. You could easily just play a whole round as if it was real life, just using the "club". By that I mean: not having to use a cursor to control the draw or fade, or timing button presses to control the shot power/accuracy or the usual golf video game standards (they are there if you want, sure, but you don't HAVE to use them). All of that is naturally controlled by your swing. It even accurately reflected my natural right to left style of swing. Sorry, I don't have more details right now, like I said I gave it a quick work through the tutorials and about 6-7 holes as Tiger. But so far, so good!

Usually the only games that prohibit reviews until it releases are games that suck. That probably isn't the case here though; E3 is the more likely explanation.

I just saw that there is an offer for a free subscription for 2 different golf magazines (valued at $10) included with the game. So you can either take the free subscription or get a refund for the $10 value. For those of us that got in on the EA/Best Buy deal, that brings the total down to $20.
edit...This was with the PS3 version, maybe Daryl can confirm that this comes with the Wii copy as well.
