Re: Tiger Woods 2010

IGN finally put up their review: 9.0

"You will not find a better game of golf on any system, period."

Wow...from that review, it sounds like the Wii may finally have a cross platform game that beats the competition. Interested to see how the PS3 & 360 reviews fair. But looks like I am going to pick up the Wii version this week if the reviews are all this positive.

sweet. I ended up getting it just for the motion plus. Now we need to all exchange friend codes so we can play online.

This will be happening more now that publishers like EA are moving their AAA development teams over to the Wii to follow the majority of the system sales.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

Has anyone seen the 360 version in stores? I live in the middle of nowhere, and my Wal Mart says they don't have it yet. They said it hasn't been released.

I bought both versions and I am heavily leaning towards keeping both of them.

I am actually surprised how fun both are...

After posting my previous question, I checked amazon and they have it listed for the 360 now, so I ordered next day delivery. Since I have Prime, it'll still end up being cheaper than buying it at Wal-Mart, assuming I even had that option, which I don't since actual release dates seem to confuse the employees at my local store. I've never had this much trouble getting a new release, but I'll finally have it tomorrow.

I ended up ordering from EA.

It is a great game. Lots of little things changed/added and the online is much better.

Was holding off until reviews but I went ahead and ordered the Wii bundle. I loved Wii golf and hope this is finally the golf game to truly take advantage of the Wiimote.

I ordered it yesterday from the EA store in stock with expedited shipping, and I checked the status today and my order now says out of stock.

After playing a few hours with both versions, I think I am going to stick with the 360. I like being able to sit down and play...though the 1:1 swing is pretty amazing.

If anyone wants the Wii bundle at a discount, pm me.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

Does anyone know how to delete profiles on the Wii version? When I started the game up this morning and went to Career mode, I thought that I hadn't saved my profile from the day before and created a new one, only to find out that I had to go to Load to load my profile. I now have two profiles and want to get rid of one of them.

It took me a little bit to get the hang of the putting, but now I can't go back to any other way to do it.

Wow. Someone who actually *prefers* button pushing instead of realistic golf swings in a sports game.

For any golfers or other athletic-minded people out there, the Wii version is the only way to go. The control is amazing. The putting is 100% on-target. No more multiple-strength putters, etc. Simply pretend that you are really putting, and the game behaves like a real putting situation.) I can't imagine wanting to play a "new" version of the same old button-pushing video golf (with a couple of inconsequential tidbits thrown in) when you can have a very responsive home golf simulator.

Real golfers will have a field day with TW10 on the wii. It takes some minor adjustments to a 'real' swing for best results, but it is easy to figure out and very close to a real swing.

BTW, the disc golf is a huge excellent bonus. It plays JUST like real disc golf. A nice 'extra' to a revolutionary golf game, and the control is also amazingly realistic. (I've played a ton of disc golf in my time.)

Also, I believe the Wii version has 8-10 more courses than the other console versions this year. Interesting.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

Well, I don't have a Wii, so I had no choice but to go with the 360 (well, technically I could have gotten the PS3 version, but you know, that wasn't going to happen). I had $120 of EA cash and figured that this was a good way to spend some of it. The reviews haven't been spectacular, but it seems that this is just a moderate step up from the 09 version; since I haven't had a version since 07, I figured this would be a good enough purchase for me. I look forward to trying this out by the weekend. Thanks for the input, thelwig14.

They are both great games. A patch is already in the works for a little career bug and it will be released tomorrow.

The EA deal allowed me to try both so it was a no brainer.

And even though I am athletically challenged and managed to play a real D-1 sport, I just prefer to play games at the end of a long day sitting on my ass.

I could go to a bar every single night of the week and get my face pounded in, but I prefer to have my ass beat playing UFC online while drinking much cheaper beer.

EA probably held a few back and will sell some courses as DLC for PS3 and 360 again as in years past....I'm pretty sure they don't do that for the Wii version....

Hmmm... this sounds like a good Fathers Day gift for my golf nut dad, though $300 (Wii + the game) is quite a bit more than I usually spend on things like this. I may get the PS3 version for myself though, as I don't have a Wii.

OK, I'll bite: what exactly is a "real D-1 sport"?

Division 1 university.

By "real" I'm assuming he means baseball, football, basketball or hockey.
