Check craigslist. Wii's can be had on the cheap if you get a package and sell the remaining pieces on amazon or whatever.

Yep, one is already available for 600 points (free through Gamestop via preorder).

EA tries to make the claim that it is a disk space issue.

That's funny...all PS3 games come on 25GB (or 50GB) Blu-ray Discs....Wii games come on 8.5GB DVD-type discs at most....seems to me there would be MORE than enough room for extra courses...
I'd respect the company more if they were just honest about their racket...

i have the wii version and just played 18 holes at the pebble beach course, where my natural slice was replicated uncannily by the game.

Same here. It's scary how accurate the game is in replicating my swing.

I've played at least 250 rounds of Wii Sports Golf in the last 4 1/2 months and never got a hole in one. In Tiger Woods, I got an ace in my third round of the game.

What putting system do you guys use? My brother swears by the Classic putting. I think the Precision putting is better.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

I got the PS3 version and couldn't be more pleased with the game.

The one thing that bothers me is the commentating. Just dreadful. What's with the obnoxius comments every time you make a bad shot?

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

Here's something I don't quite understand.....looking at the reviews in GameInformer, the overall game gets an 8.5 and the second opinion is 8.75. In the box where they discuss "The Wii Difference" which talks about how the Wiimotion is fantastic, makes the game, it's a cut above the rest, etc. and then gives it an 8.5 and says it is a 7 without it. But it also says that aside from the wiimotion, it is essentially the exact same game as the 360 and PS3.

Who knows.

They're just being wii-acist!

Sorry...that's all I got.

I saw that review just a few minutes ago cause my GI just came in the mail. It even mentions that the Wii version has the older skill system that the reviewer "personally prefers to the newer Hank Haney one." Strange.

Well, I picked up the Wii version at BB today. I had a 10% coupon and a $25 rewards GC so it worked out pretty good. Looking forward to tossing my We Love Golf game now.

Played through the Wii tutorials last night. Controls seem really good with the M+. I can see myself turning on the Wii often to play this.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

For anyone that has the previous years game, Tiger Woods 09, I suggest trading it in at Amazon before they change their price. I traded my PS3 copy in for $21 (Wii - $20, Xbox - $17.25) compared to the $8 gamestop would have given me. The process went as smoothly as could be asked and I already have the money in my account (I just sent it in on Tuesday).

After all is said and done, I will have been paid $1 to buy Tiger Woods 10. EA cash deal (-$30), magazine refund (-$10), TW09 trade-in (-$21).

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

For those of you who are going to send in for the Golf Magazine refund, it says in the fine print to "complete this form." But there is nothing to complete on the form. Am I missing something?

It also says to mail it along with your qualifying receipt. It doesn't mention anything about copies. Are you going to send your original receipt or send a copy?

There is a line at the very bottom with small lettering indicating that you are to put your name and address there.

I would get a copy of the receipt and mail in the original.

D'oh. I completely overlooked that. How the hell could they even read someone's writing on a line that small with all the info they requested?

A quick and very dumb game question. When you move the shot around and it gives you a percentage to the hole (say you move it from the 100% right below to the tee and it makes it 78%), is the only way to actually hit that percentage shot is to get lucky and physically swing it right around that percentage to hit the shot? Of course I am used to just pressing buttons at the right time to get the right power percentage instead of actually swinging the controller so I just want to make sure I am not missing anything. I had a pretty difficult first round tonight and hit around 25 over par. I hit a terrible shot in the water and it placed me in a near impossible position to get out of at one point. Granted those weren't my only poor shots.

So anyway, I figured out the precision putting pretty easily but just want to make sure I am not missing a certain something to get my shot power percentages more accurate. The swinging mechanic is amazing in this game but it looks like it is going to take me shit-tons of practice to get it right.

Hitting the ball at anything between 50 & 80% has been a little tough for me. I either hit it way to hard or way too soft.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

Finally played some. Got through the tutorial and it reproduces my slice (which it is kind enough to consider a fade ) quite well. I actually like the putting, but it takes some getting use to. Here is what I am unsure of...I only played the first 9 holes of Banff, and ended up getting 3 eagles. That seems too easy. But it is great fun.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

I'd have to say that it's way forgiving on the Wii as well. Played 18 on Banff and got one hole in one and two eagles and about 3 chip shots that made it in.

Putting, however, is pretty damn tough.

Disc golf is a pretty sweet addition although I wish they added some of the real disc courses rather than just using the existing ones.

Overall, the game is fun and glad I bought it. I would definitely recommend it.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

For those finding the game too easy, make sure to go into the options and turn the "Assisted Hole Outs" option to OFF. By default, this option is set to on. It is essentially what makes those miracle shots for you.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

What control method are you guys using for the Wii?

On All Play I was rocking the thing, then I switched to Advanced and my score went to shit

I started Standard, and did great with Tiger. Then I created my own golfer, and did ok on Standard. Then I switched to Advanced with my own golfer and sucked.

Re: Tiger Woods 2010

I'm playing through the career on Standard right now and really enjoying the game. I still suck; however, as my visiting mother in law keeps pointing out.

The wife tried out the frisbee golf earlier today and thought that was quite a neat game, so we're definitely getting our money's worth out of the title.

Well, now at least I don't feel so bad. I was playing with my customized golfer on Advanced when I did so poorly my first time out.

I love the disc golf by the way. It could honestly be it's own game. I just wish they had more than 3 discs to choose from. Sometimes a driver, mid-range & putter just doesn't cut it.
