HOLY FUCK! How did you get that many MS points Shag? Must have been some super deal... crazy! Down for the Green Day and maybe Disposable Teens - would have preferred a different Manson track but I'll probably get it.

Thank you very much for this! It's very helpful. I found six new songs that I don't have.

My pleasure. I'd be doing this for myself anyway, so I see no reason not to share it.

Bang Camaro, a Harmonix band, is playing Rocklahoma this weekend and just posted a blog about Skid Row's 18 & Life: http://bangcamaro.com/wp02/?p=731

They've already done others on Stryper, Anthrax, Warrant, Crue, and Ratt.

Not any of this means anything for Rock Band, necessarily... Hopefully the won't let partying get in the way of networking for their day job ;)

Agreed!

We NEED to have it linked on the first page.

Having new stuff added like Iron Maiden and Evanescence = Awesome
Realizing that the Maroon 5 set I just reluctantly spent 440 points on is on there as well = Not So Much.

A big  to Harmonix for bringing this awesomeness from out of freakin' nowhere!

+1

I never would have guessed a rhythm game to be getting Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, etc.! This pack will murder the expert drummers around here...

Done. Also added a section about how to unlock all the on-disc songs the quickest, although I'm sure most people have already got them unlocked by this point.

2liters don't have the caps. It's only on the 20oz bottles and 1liter bottles. The caps will be yellow or red, depending on your area. There's no real way to get these for cheap unless you find a gas station or something that has a deal on them. Some people on the thread have been getting them for 2/$2.22 at some places. 7-11 around here has the 20oz for B2G1, which ends up being about $1 a bottle.

Oh, really? My bad. Thanks. I thought I read that they were also on the 2 liters, too.

Still, I also checked out the 20 oz. bottles sold at the check-out areas of the stores I posted above, with no luck.

Kinda frustrating reading about everyone's luck with this promotion and not being able to partake in the joy (especially since, unlike most of these types of deals, I actually want what they're giving away). :gah: :)

Linus-We just got them in the Pittsburgh area a few days ago so I'm sure you'll have them real soon.

Thanks!! Your timing could not be better -- my hard drive died last week so I'm starting from scratch and was dreading doing the full tour all over again.

Glad I could help, GuessWho! :)

So I'm going to buy some more DLC this weekend. What am I missing? Instrument doesn't matter, as I play everything. I've got plenty of spacebucks, so don't be shy by recommending only a few tracks.

Some of the things I'm contemplating are:

Phish - Wilson
Richard Thompson - The Way It Shows
both Grateful Dead packs
Evanescence Pack (for vocals)

I saw a commercial for the Green Day DLC.

Can't wait.

I can't wait for the good Green Day to come out....so I'll buy the new crap to support them so it gets released sooner :)

Green Day is like sex even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Sweet! Thanks. My brother lives in Brandermill, so when I go visit him I'll check those out.

Just went through pinata's spreadsheet (thanks for your work!) and somehow I never knew that "New Slang" by the Shins is available as DLC. How did that slip by me? It's one of my favorite songs, but I don't know about playing it on Rock Band. Seems like it would be a tad boring (especially since I primarily play the fake drums). I do like to sing along with it in the car, though. Anyone have this track? How is it?

^ Have you thoroughly convinced yourself yet?

You're preaching to the choir on justifying it ;)

DJLinus 07-05-09 07:12 PM

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

 Yeah, I'm totally trying to justify it to people doing the same thing. But once my local Dollar Tree gets the caps in in Diet (*if* they do), I'll feel a little better about this plan.

So tomorrow morning is garbage day - how bad is it if I were to go around the neighborhood looking at my neighbors' recycling bins they all put out?

I endorse this.

So with them adding DLC to the promotion is there any incentive to buy DLC on release day for the rest of the summer? I want to get Foreigner but since they added the Maiden and Evanescence tracks I'm not so sure I want to drop the points on them.

pinata242 07-06-09 08:11 AM

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I'm not going to even buy Green Day tomorrow because of the chance it'll be added by early August.

On the flip side, I'm not going to redeem any songs until near the deadline in case there's an XBLM deal on some pack I want or a Harmonix announcement of some future retail Track Pack that hits a lot of what I already want. Especially since we know those packs are having timed exclusive songs now.

I figure 2 months gives plenty of time for something to be announced.

I'm frugal even with "free"

I've heard that at the recycling centers that they have to remove the caps on all of the plastic bottles and milk containers because they do not have the recyclable symbol on them, so you are doing your part to help them out.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

^ Guilty.

But I have a shit-ton of games to keep me occupied and Rock Band, for me, isn't meant to be a single-player experience. If I have no one to play those songs with in a timely manner, why rush?
