The fader does have the notched area for you to center it, but I still blow past it on a regular basis. Again, not knowing how the regular version is, I can't compare the two.

Cool! I appreciate the feedback. That's really all I need to hear. Sounds like the same problem I was having on the other version and honestly I think that's just going to take practice. If you're not noticing a hard stop point, then I'm sure they're pretty close to each other.

So I can buy that guy a $5 combo meal, give him $75 cash and make him play until he dies at a time TBA all while playing someone else's mashups of someone else's music. I wonder if I could at $25 to his fee if every time he breaks his combo I get to remove part of a finger at the joint.

Saw this today at Best Buy I was shocked at the size of the box for The Renegade edition. I was also amazed at how many copies of Beatles were still in stock. The demo was fun but 199 is a lot to pay.

I'm glad that you said it as I was just about to. Check out this to see some funny and some weird postings from the previously mentioned site.

Re: The Official DJ Hero Thread of BPMs, Faders and Scratches
The game is even more fun that I was expecting. I'm having a blast with it thus far. I will still stress the fact that I think their barrier is the music style, and there are just going to be some people that don't like the sound of it at all. But if you do, this is really the best you could ask for.
I know it was a brief topic on the last page about not feeling like you're doing anything with the music and after playing a few hours of the game tonight I couldn't disagree more. In fact, I'd say it's the most I've ever gotten to directly affect the sound of the song out of any other music game I've played. In addition to the fader, button pressing, and scratching all making you completely feel like you're creating the mixing, the effect knob that let's you manipulate the track during the Effect Zones is a brilliant addition that really lets you feel like you have a hand in making the song unique. I'd say it's closest to the whammy bar on guitar, but the distortion in this game definitely fits much better.
I've played a ton of songs thus far and have only run into one that I didn't like at all. The DJ Jazzy Jeff and Daft Punk sets have definitely been my favorites thus far. There's really some great tracks in the game if you dig mashups/remixes.

Am I alone in thinking no matter how nice the turntable controller seems, that in a year it'll be viewed just like the Xplorer guitar or the Rock Band 1 drum set -- something made totally obsolete by the next generation peripheral?

Yeah..it's quite possible. Isn't it always the case? Confession time though I guess. I use my 360 Xplorer pretty much exclusively for everything ever since I got it with GH2 for Xbox. I hated the thing at first. HATED. Then I got use to it and had a hard time playing on anything else. It's weird and I'm ashamed.

I watched my roommate play for a while today and the music was really cool. Not a game I could get into playing, but good music.

I haven't picked up the game yet, but is the Daft Punk set only through the Best Buy bonus? Or is the one you're talking about, Superfro, included in the game?

You know I'm still trying to figure out the Best Buy bonus. All I think it was was just a code to unlock the Daft Punk level early. I think that's the meaning of their "instant access to 7 Daft Punk mixes". That's all I found that the packed in Best Buy code did.

Ah, okay. So if I get DJ Hero through another store, it's not worth it to buy the Best Buy Daft Punk code off ebay, since I'll eventually unlock it anyways?

I was going to have the wife get this for me for Xmas but I might hold off a bit since the projected sales are low. I don't really want to spend $120 on a peripheral that I'm sure will be improved with the next generation... but the game looks sweet and I love the music.

this game is awesome, so far feels way harder than guitar hero though. I guess the learning curve is steeper.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but why would projected sales of a game have any impact on whether you choose to buy it?

Ah, okay, that makes sense. Yeah, that $120 price tag is hard to swallow. Unless you can get some sort of deal on it, it might be worth waiting for a price drop. It's a great game, but $120 is a lot of money.

True, but don't forget: If you buy it at Target this week, you get the new Black Eye Peas album : THE E.N.D. for free, so that makes the $120 price tag much easier to pony up for.

Actually, I'm waiting to see how RIDE turned out. I might hit the family up for one big-ticket game for the holidays and it'll probably be one or the other of those.
