Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

I played through the first DNA sequence last night, and really enjoy what I'm seeing so far. I think the changesto the way the story progresses (no forced side missions) will really help the game out towards the end when people (me) tend to get tired of the smaller things and just want to finish up.

I already pickpocketed 1000fl and got that Cheevo - lol.

My UPS driver leaves it on the balcony when I am not home. That is when he's not delivering my shit to Target.

Mine always deliver my packages at the door. He just rings the door bell and leaves, doesn't wait for an answer.

I played a bit last night and first had trouble with the controls , but after a few tries was able to get everything back. Of course I've spent most of the time climbing buildings and jumping.

One quick question, are you able to counter really early in the game? or is that an ability you gain later? I've tried but I'm only able to hit guys, and grab them, no counter, or I don't remember how to do it.

Just picked this up at Best Buy and got a nifty wrist band also.

There are two special areas/maps that are exclusive for the people that ordered from GameStop. I entered the codes yesterday and guess what? I didn't need to download anything, they are part of the game, they are just locked for everyone else.

I don't remember if I could counter during my first fights, but it is specifically touched on during a training section about 4 hours in, so it makes sense if you can't do it yet.

One other awesome thing that happens in this game is the theif chases. I don't know if I was robbed, or if these guys just show up running around the city every once and a while, but a red icon with an exclamation point shows up on your map. You chase this guy around and if you catch and kill him, he has lots of money for you. It is just too awesome chasing people on the roof tops though.

I think those are just another type of side mission. And yeah, they're damn fun. I cannot wait to get home and play this game. I have Star Trek on Blu-ray sitting around unwatched because I can't pull myself away from AC2.

So how's the navigation? Is it impossible to simply find your way to an area of interest or a next mission?

I'm really enjoying this game. As much as I love the first game, I believe this game surpasses the original in every way.

The game got real easy as soon I as got the hidden blade. Can't wait to unlock more weapons.

The navigation is pretty easy. Sometimes its difficult to tell if an object is ground level or not, but other than that very simple.

You certainly could. One thing I liked is that this game takes place like right after the first one. But you can still play this game standalone. You don't need to know the first game's storyline to follow this one.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

You might want to read through the plot of the first one on wikipedia. While the general thrust of the game is not dependent on having played the first, a lot of the specifics assume you know what happened.

Geez, this game is just enormous. I'm about 10 hours in and I'm still learning new things to do. I could play these assassination side quests forever! I'm gonna go ahead and say there's a solid 40 hours here, at least.

Oh man, I just got to:

Spoiler:
It's a-me, Mario!

I can't believe they put that in. Still laughing about it.

I'm pretty sure this is the definitive comparison.

Finally, a video game that treats non-English speakers the way movies and TV do: by translating everything they say into English, with the exception of a few random words that they say in their native tongue. Grazi for this game, Ubisoft! It is very buono!

Finally made it to Venice last night. Only ran around briefly, but it's got to be the most visually impressive area in the game. Sadly, it looks like I'm nearing the last few sequences in the main story.

This game is on my Christmas list. I loved the first one. I am too obsessed with MW2 right now to buy it.

I speak a little Italian so I'll try it. I have to wait until Christmas though since the game is present for one of the kids.

I made that change last night and it was better IMO.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

So when did they push the PC edition back to March? I was pumped they were going to release them all at the same time but when I finally looked in to getting it the game was now coming out in March! WTF!!!!!

By the time I get around to playing it this thread will be long dead.
