Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

Wow, I really like what I see in that trailer. Being able to counter and take the enemy's weapons. The double silent blade kill. (probably difficult to pull of, I'm assuming) Assassin's Creed was one of my favorite games for 360. Everything from the video looks like an improvement (well I'm a bit hesitant on the flying machine).

Worked like a charm! Cancelled my pre-order and, er, re-pre-ordered.

So basically, with that code and the $10 credit you get for buying it, it's $40. Can't beat that.

Thanks for sharing!

This is old news, but the achievement list is out.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/g.../achievements/

No flag achievements. All the achievements look fairly straight-forward.

Did the deal too. $5 off, free shipping, no tax, $10 off future game--pretty good deal. Did Super Saver since I plan to be busy with COD:MW2 for a while, which I changed to release-date delivery. Kinda glad Bioshock2 is not this month...

Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

Damn, I finally rented the first one last night. Here's my deal, I feel stupid for not knowing how to navigate on the map....it's such a damn challenge just making sure you are walking in the right direction - this game seriously needs a better GPS system than the one in place - the "number counter" method doesn't help as it goes higher when you have to take alternate routes to get back on path. Am I the only one who has a problem with this? What's the point of setting waypoints when you still have to find your own way there? Someone please give me some tips for navigating easier.

I actually eneded up really liking this game as it is original and has a lot of freatures I've never seen before. With that said though, the controls are pretty terrible and in-game glitches (i.e. distance needed for pick-pocketing and targeting are sometimes non-responsive) climbing needs to be worked on as well.

Wasn't expecting this game to be as good as it was and sure never knew anything about
Spoiler:
the animus (is that how you spell it?) where the game is based on past memories

So again, if anyone knows how to better navigate - please help, or should I should I just get to my destinations by free roam alone?

I free roamed to all the assassin places. I enjoyed the game enough to just go and find it.

You might be doing something wrong. I thought the controls were pretty much perfect.

Somehow this game is getting a midnight release in Gamestop, and since I preordered there, the SE, I received a txt message saying that I can go and pick up mine. I most probably wait until Tuesday morning since I start working at 5 am...

I attempted to finally play the first game a back in August. I had the same control issues as Rival. Pickpocketing was a frigging nightmare and frustrating as hell.

I rarely quit on games but repetitiveness and boredom one out and it got dumped on half.com after about 5 hours of play. The ideas and concepts were great, but execution was terrible. I'm anxious to see the feedback on the sequel.

Surprisingly, Assassin's Creed (the first) is one of the best selling titles of this generation, having sold well over 8m copies on the PS3/360 combined. Really isn't a big surprise this one will be getting a midnight release.

I'll be getting this for one of my kids for Christmas. TRU has a $10 gift card with purchase. Any other good deals around?

I was shocked that my Best Buy is having a midnight release for this too. Really didn't think this game warranted a midnight release.

From what I understand, among other things the pickpocketing is tremendously improved. I believe you can now pickpocket anyone for money, not just "marks"

Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

My biggest complaint about the first game is that combat was too easy. It didn't matter if you fought one guy, or 50. If you had patience you could kill them all without getting a scratch.

Not sure how much harder it will be on this, but it looks much more fun. You can now take their weapons and kill them with their own weapons as you are fighting

While I understand complaints about the first one, I absolutely loved it. Gonna finish up MW2 here so I can focus on this.

You can combine that with a couple deals at TRU for a decent haul. First they have a buy 2 (over $40 ea) and get $20 off. + $10 gift card for buying ACII. Also if you have the ad there is a coupon for an additional $10 gift card for spending $75.

So $20 off two games and $20 in gift cards. I considered it briefly, then I remembered how much fun I didn't have with Assassin's Creed. The God Of War collection for $40 would make a great second game to qualify for both deals.

$100 - $20 = $80 + $20 in gift cards.

Got both coming for a total of 65 bucks from amazon with a 10 dollar credit. That's a bit better

Are those offers available to everyone or is that including gift cards?

Re: Assassin's Creed 2 • You'll want to be an Assassin again

Picking this one up along with L4D2 tonight at Gamestop. Anyone know if there are any reviews up for this yet? Really hoping it's better than the original, which felt like a terrible execution of a great concept. And my god, I hated those story segments with Desmond. I remember at one point listening to a 20 minute conversation through a vent. Great gameplay there, guys!

Here's hoping this one is more fun and less of a chore.

It's been confirmed that the 360 version of this game includes an exclusive Splinter Cell Conviction demo.

Nevermind. It appears that the code is just for "exclusive content" that includes MP3s and wallpaper.
