Am I the only one with control issues with this game. A collectible on a spire is the bane of my exsistance when it comes to Prototype. Great for covering large distances, but I find control really breaks down in close quarters, or precise movements.

He nailed a bunch of things I agree with. The upgrade system is so much better in Prototype and the climbing building issues in InFamous. After a few hours of playing, I still cannot tell what I can grab onto and what I can't. In Assassin's Creed it was very simple, never once had that problem. With InFamous, sometimes I reach for something and end up just falling back down.

That is the one type of place where I had issues as well. I eventually figured out alternate ways to get the orbs atop those trickier spires that involved a combo of wall running, climbing, and charged jumps. Basically I ran up the wall until I got near the point where I might risk falling off, then switched to climbing, stopping just short of the point where Alex feels the need to repeatedly swing around the 'corners' of the spire, at which point I charged my jump to max and got the orb. I had to get to about a level 3 upgrade of jump ability to reach it, though.

Umm, Prototype is garbage compared to Infamous. I don't know one person at work or on my friends list who has not been complaining about how bad Prototype is non-stop. I managed to beat the game but yeah, it was very average at best. 6/10 or so. Really bad graphics, terrible controls, the entire city looks exactly the same. The put very little effort into anything in the game at all. Infamous on the other hand, was actually developed properly by a good company.
P.S. I hate my PS3 so I am not a fanboy...never even play the thing

Different Strokes For Different Folks. I've found Prototype to be quite a bit of fun. Sure Infamous might be a bit more polished, but the powers are so much more badass in Prototype, I just have a lot more fun doing stuff in the game.

Both games are fun. It's alot easier to die on inFamous then it is Prototype. The powers are better in Prototype. The story is better in Prototype so far.
However, inFamous had better side missions.

The missions where your powers left you are hard as fuck. I don't know how I got through them.
However, once you do, you'll get a badass new power.

Same here. I'm stuck at absorbing the APC commander and then killing as many military types as possible. I lay waste to everything but it never tells me when I've met my "quota". It's become rather annoying.

I love how I got halfway through the game, then the game glitches and erases my save file.
I'm done with it now, game was getting repetitive. Not a bad game, but way too repetitive.

I wasn't thrilled with this game at first, but I put a few more hours into it and it's growing on me. It's definitely more fun as you unlock more powers. Once you level up your jumps and get the glide move and the in-air redirects, moving around is a lot more enjoyable. I think I was comparing it to Infamous at first, which was hurting my impressions of Prototype. They are actually very different games, and I think Prototype has much more in common with Hulk: Ultimate Destruction than it does with Infamous (which makes sense given the developer). Each is enjoyable in its own ways, but I think Infamous will have more staying power for me. Prototype will be fun while it lasts, though.

Unintentionally Funniest Post O' The Day
What I'd really like to know is if the game stays fresh or gets repetitive?

My thoughts exactly. The whole thing hinged on the idea that swearing is inherently funny, which it's not. It brought up a few of inFAMOUS's shortcomings, but those have been discussed at length everywhere else on the internet.
Whatever, I still plan on giving Prototype a shot, and it won't change the fact that I found inFAMOUS to be a very enjoyable game.

I got a couple more hours into this and have to say that it really does get to be tons of fun once you get your powers leveled up a little bit. Collecting the landmark orbs reminds me a lot of Crackdown, except it's much easier to climb buildings in Prototype.
