I think it's up to you and the person you're playing. You would be responsible for contacting them and setting up a mutually beneficial time to play.

For what it's worth, my schedule tends to be the typical 8-5 + commute. I'm sure there will be weeks I'll have to let the CPU play, though.

Now this looks like DLC to purchase!

I had told myself that no paid DLC was worth it for a sports game, but that may just make me break my rule. That looks incredible!

Any Wii players here? That version didn't do so well.

I'd be more likely to believe that most of the PS2 Madden fans migrated to the 360 and PS3, personally. It's one of those games where people aren't that willing to accept a radically different control scheme. For all the complaints about the game being pretty much the same from year to year, it seems that people like it that way. And the better graphics of the HD systems probably help it more than other games (since the game isn't that much different from year to year).
As expected, football favorite Madden NFL 10 was the top-selling video game in August, shifting almost two million copies in just over two weeks. But it wasn't all good news for Madden or publisher EA: the Wii version of the game sold a mere 67,000 copies, roughly half of last year's figure.
For a title that was touted as having been rebuilt from the ground up to provide gamers a better experience, that's a disappointing number -- and EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich thinks Madden 09 Wii is to blame.
"I believe many diehard Madden fans, who transitioned from the Playstation 2 to the Wii, made their yearly Madden purchase in 2008 and realized that the Wii could not offer the same experience they have grown accustom to (online play, realistic graphics, in-depth team management)," he told gaming blog Joystiq today. Madden NFL 10's PS2 version -- yes, they're still making them -- outsold the Wii game by more than two to one.
Divnich also laid some of the blame at the Wii's unique control system, wondering if long-time Madden fans were reluctant to switch away from the familiar gamepads of consoles past. Madden fans, he said, "know that Madden cannot offer the same experience on the Wii as it did for the PS2."
Looks like it can’t offer the same experience for EA shareholders, either.

I think I would get annoyed with the washed out LEGACY DLC. It is cool, but didn't they do soemthing like that with MVP Baseball. I know some baseball game did that.

Yeah, MVP 05 had that as well. It's a nice novelty but playing full games like that is a bit annoying.

But wait, that was their selling point, that's why they're #1, it makes you feel like you're actually playing the game and not just pushing buttons???? It keeps people from becoming fat-asses, who needs a hard drive, not everyone wants to game in HD, etc...???

So, I play this game at my friend's house, and I hate it. I really do. Does this game feel "broken" to anyone else. The challenge system is horrendous. The refs are constantly completely wrong. The animations are frustrating. The announcers often say things that don't even make sense.
Example: Got 2 holding penalties in the first quarter. Announcers later make that stupid "The refs are letting them play, no penalties called in the game yet."
You get stuck in animations, and while the guy slowly finishes the animation while you're trying to get him to cut, boom tackled.
Don't even get me started on ball spots, in or out catches, and the like. I am so glad I didn't buy this game. I really really miss NFL2K5. Why is the intermission crap so boring here? I swear 2K5 used their license WAY better back then over EA today. It just feels so cheap. Also, everyone's face looks mentally retarded.
EA should honestly be ashamed of this game. Yet, I keep playing it because it's the only fucking NFL game out there.

The last Madden I bought was 2008. I thought that game was perfect.
I thought 2009 sucked, and didn't buy 2010.
I stick to the NCAA series.

Re: Madden NFL 10 (August 2009)
I'm glad we have some competition with Backbreaker coming out in May. This may give the people at Madden a bit more reason to polish the game and add additional features without breaking the rest of the game.
