Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I've been playing #1 on the PC, the graphics aren't mind blowing but they are quite nice maxed out.
I'm assuming the 360 version looks close with a less steady framerate. |

Post all the pics you want. I stand by what I said. Also, I think you posted In game stuff vs Cut scene stuff. How is that fair?

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Having been playing the game over the weekend, that screenshot looks like it's from Virmire. Definitely not cut scene, and yeah, I believe pretty much everything in the first game used the game engine anyway.

Don't know anything about the game but the long trailer looks pretty cool. Just saw it on the Vikings-Saints game.

Just saw a long commercial for this during the Vikings game. I've got goosebumps. After Mass Effect, I played Fallout 3, which unfairly put Mass Effect to the back of my mind. But all those wonderful gaming memories are coming back. |

I've been playing ME2 for a few days now, perhaps about 10 to 15 hours in. Action is fantastic, the story is superb so far. They removed a fat portion of the exploration stuff that made ME somewhat tedious (searching planets in vehicles for instance), although mineral excavating is a bit boring.

the launch trailer was awesome, great music.

I don't even have a 360 right now, but i added them to my username on the site just in case I get one and get the game. Must be a mistake, hurry and get them before MS catches it. |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
i remember the shitstorm that rose when that 'author' commented on TV about how bad the sexual content was, only to have the gamers call her on having never played the game. They spammed her books on Amazon and flamed her to hell and back. lol good times.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Thanks for the heads up, glassdragon. I added them all as well even though none of them pushed me to pre-order or get the CE.

I don't think that Mass Effect shot was from a cutscene, but I could be mistaken. Regardless, Bioware doesn't really use CGI cutscenes anyway. Most of their cutscenes use in-game graphics.
Exactly. You can debate whether or not the graphics are good or not, but you simply cannot debate that they are Xbox-level graphics. That is just completely ridiculous. Even if Mass Effect graphics are not quite as good as some other Xbox360 games, it is still well beyond what could be done on the Xbox. Consoles are generally set on "medium" settings compared to PCs. The consoles have a video card roughly equivalent to a Geforce 7800. It takes a Geforce 9800 (or Radeon equivalent) to completely max out the game on PC, and it will then look quite a bit better than the console. We can end this now because respectfully, I'll never agree with you guys on this issue. But I'm cool with that because being the minority opinion on an issue here on dvdtalk is nothing new to me. |

Mass Effect 2 Has Some Fancy Disc-Swapping Action
I had no idea the game came on 2 discs, not that it makes a difference. http://kotaku.com/5456070/mass-effec...wapping-action |

Those would be the links to download and add to your queue all the CE stuff that comes with the CE of ME2 free of charge. ^^ If it plays out like the first one did, that makes sense.

1st of all. I'm not the one trying to prove anything to you or even debate the issue. The graphics were 'good', but nothing blew me away. Period. I'm sorry but that's how I felt when I finally played the game. I was expecting "mind blowing" graphics and instead I got "pretty cool but nothing blows me away" graphics.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Bioware games tend to have a linear start and finish and a very non-linear middle section. So it makes sense to put that non-linear part all on one disc rather than split the non-linear part across two discs.

Yeah, people are (understandably) having issues with this:

You truly believe ME1 had the same caliber of graphics as games from the first Xbox? Even if you take away it's "HD", it's still not even close. |
