I'm not sure, but I think Bioware did make a video thing that covers the events of ME1 for people who are just now picking up ME2 for their PS3s.

I've searched online and found nothing. I hear it's a DLC you only get after earning the Platinum Trophy in the game. :(

Just finished this game up(39 hours) and I'm soooo glad it came out for PS3. It was great!

So here is my beef:

I spent the entire game avoiding all the ladies advances so I could get me some Kelly. Halfway through the last mission I see her liquify in the tank! Dammit!!!

Spoiler:
So after I beat the game I looked up how to ensure Kelly's survival and it was a decision I had several hours before. There seems to be two thoughts online for how to save Kelly.

1 - After the crew is taken, you can complete Legion's quest and then go through the relay. This is what I did and Kelly died...so I am not sure why it worked for others.

2 - After the crew it taken, you must choose to go through the relay immediately and you will get there in time.


Luckily I have a save from right before the IFF mission with everyone's loyalty missions complete so I will replay the last few hours of the game to save Kelly. I wouldn't normally do this for a game but if certain things are going to carry over the ME3, then I want the best possible ending.

My plan was to play it at least a couple of times. Once as a male heoic type and the other as a female douchebag. I didn't even think of the repercussions in ME3 pertaining to romances. may have to revisit the game later on.

If you care about the trophy for romancing one of your crew, Kelly doesn't count.

I'm a solid 20hrs in and am absolutely loving. Completely lived up to the hype surrounding it for me.

I can be done as you listed in 1. But you have to rush and make no detours. Some folk have even managed to do both
Spoiler:
Tali's loyalty mission with Legion as a squad mate (there's some interesting conversations and scenes that result from this) and then complete Legion's loyalty mission just before rescuing the crew.
But you can't do any stop overs for any planet scanning or other side quests.

The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 has been patched, and in the process, has revealed details on an upcoming DLC pack called "Arrival." Featuring three new Trophies, the BioWare forums have been abuzz with theories on what the expansion will entail.

One of the Trophies, "Covert Action," refers to a Dr. Amanda Kenson, who was previously mentioned in a recent Cerberus Network update:

"Only a small fraction of the mass effect relays date back 50,000 years," she writes, "The majority are far older, indicating they were created by a species predating even the Protheans." ... Some believe that "Arrival" can refer to the arrival of the Reapers, setting up events for the upcoming Mass Effect 3. Others, however, are more fixated on figuring out how to acquire one of the more ominous Trophies for the DLC: "The Ultimate Sacrifice." Wasn't dying once sacrifice enough?

Finished this the other day and.....WOW!

I thought RDR was a great single player game but ME2 was even better. I can see why 360 fans have been saying they had the best 3rd party exclusives. I am soooo glad that we are all caught up with the 360 and will be getting ME3 on day one.

That's great to hear. I'm in the middle of finishing RDR and I'm definitely a little underwhelmed having played Mass Effect 2 already.

After playing ME2 you need to play a crappy game to bring you back to normal.

About 30hrs in to the game and am completely hooked. It is rare something hyped up so much lives to my expectations.

Wow, this is coming out a lot sooner than I expected.

Commander Shepard travels to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative that could have evidence about an impending Reaper invasion in Mass Effect 2's Arrival downloadable content, coming March 29 to the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
