With everything they've given me for free already, I'm ok with a measly $7 for this. Especially if it helps bring more free stuff down the line. I, however, will not be paying $2 for new outfits for Jack, Thane, and Garrus(?) tomorrow.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Anyone else download the Firewalker pack today?
I played through a few missions and it's pretty lame so far. It's all the fun of driving a Mako, but without a map this time. |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Picked this up on a whim at BB for $39.99, not having played the first one. I was getting pretty sick of COD:MW2 online gameplay for various reasons and was looking for a good, engrossing single-player story. A couple hours in and this baby definitely rules.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Saw this on Kotaku.
A mysterious countdown timer has appeared on BioWare's home page, as well as the pages for Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. What is BioWare revealing on Monday? http://kotaku.com/5500109/what-is-bi...l+%28Kotaku%29 |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I didn't realize until I started playing again today that since I finished it I've played nothing but FPS (Bioshock2, Borderlands, and Battlefield: BC2) so the controls were jarring at first. Shepard looked looked like he incurred brain damage on the suicide mission because he was running into walls and people on the Normandy.

I think you should go buy the first one for $20 and play that first :)
Second the advice as I asked the same thing a long time back. Granted it'll set you back time wise for playing ME2 but it was well worth the wait and the experience. And yes the storyline is a large part of both games. |

Saw this over at Teamxbox about the new character coming up...

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I'm not really enjoying the Firewalker dlc, they removed mid-mission saves. I keep dying and having to start the mission all over. Makes me really miss the Mako.

I think it's safe to say we now know why this was free:lol: |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
In the interest of avoiding spoilers, I've been avoiding this thread.
I just bought ME2 since it was 40 at Best Buy and I had RZ certs and a gift card. Should I keep it? Other factors: I'm still playing Dragon Age - I'm about to start the Landsmeet - and I might have lost the xbox for a while since getting my wife hooked on Bioshock. Obviously if I wait long enough it'll drop more, or become available on Goozex - but then I won't get Cerberus. I liked the story and atmosphere of ME1 but didnt finish it. The loading elevators and pace seemed very slow, and I didn't really like controlling the multiple characters. Perhaps now that I'm experienced with Dragon Age it will be a little more natural. I also thought the inventory system was a little fiddly. So, keep/play now, return forever, or return and wait for price drop? |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
keep it...play it...love it...
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Yeah keep it and play it. They fixed the inventory system.
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I wouldn't say they fixed it. They dumbed it down considerably.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I never had a problem with the first games inventory system...

I picked this up over the weekend and I'm hoping to start it some time this week.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I just finished - literally. I lost Tali in the last battle but the rest survived. Looking forward to ME3.
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
About how long did it take you to finish?
I didn't have any "problems" with the inventory system, i just recall being mildly annoyed by it. Maybe there were too many choices and not enough differentiation between them. |
