Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I have a question regarding
Spoiler:
Leigon. Did I make the wrong choice and hand him to Cerberus, thus resulting in him/it not being a part of my team? I wasn't paying attention to the responses. I guess I should have picked "I want to talk to it first" instead?

Am I screwed or what?

Spoiler:
He won't be a member of your team, but you can still get the no one left behind achievement

Does he have a loyalty mission? I am assuming no. Is he a big help, or just another character?

Yes, there was a loyalty mission. When you get to the last mission I sent him into the pipes, but I think you can send Tali in and she'll survive if she's loyal to you. That's the only time I used him.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I just finished my first run through of the game as a Renegade Shepard. Finished at Level 26 with about 30 hours played, with everyone loyal and everyone surviving the end. Looking forward to starting anew with a pussy Shepard and changing up some decisions now.

Overall, this was probably the BEST cinematic experience i've ever had in a game. I absolutely loved the story and plot in the first game, but it had some weaknesses in gameplay. ME2 fixes those, albeit by simply removing some elements as have been mentioned already, but takes the story in just an entertaining direction. Just eliminating the recycled side missions and making each new area feel unique and different just made the world feel so much bigger and more realized. The music, dialog, and climax were all fantastic. The last stage was a bit easy for me, but just felt epic all around which was fine by me.

I think I might finish up a ME1 play through that I was working on and continue that character here too.

Just finished. The original Mass Effect was one of my favorite games ever, and ME2 improved on it in nearly every way. An amazing achievement in gaming for BioWare.

Is Mass Effect 3 out yet?!

Damn. Okay, I'll have to see if I have a save a few minutes before that mission, or just grab him in my upcoming Paragon playthrough. I don't want to miss any cheevos.

Love this game!

I am late to the board here but I have a question...

Spoiler:
I did Mirandas loyalty mission first. did Jacks last night and picked Jacks side after the argument between the two. Now Mirandas POed at me and is not loyal anymore. Is it worth keeping Mirandas loyalty over Jacks? I have no idea how the game ends, but I am wondering if I should redo Jacks loyalty mission and pick Mirandas side since it seems like her loyalty is more valuable then Jacks. I could care less about any of the sex stuff, I just don't want to go farther in the game only to find out that I shot myself in the foot, because I'll need Mirandas loyalty for something pivital to the plot...

if you don't have them both loyal, you miss out on an achievement at the end of the game...you need everyone loyal on your team to do this. So, besides the actual ending, and the missing special power, nothing else changes. The first time I played I lost Miranda's loyalty, but kept her power for some reason.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Thnx for the response...

Spoiler:
I still have her power as well... I have 2 more loyalty quests to do... I wonder if I get enough Paragon I can try to get her loyalty again. I have almost 60% paragon... I wonder if its worth redoing Jacks mission and taking Mirandas side, but then I will prolly loose jacks loyalty

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Is it possible to get everyone loyal if you play straight Paragon? I tried my first one last night on Zaeed and thought I had lost him. Luckily I was able to get a Paragon option at the end to win his loyalty after pissing him off. A friend of mine though never got that option so he had to go redo the mission and play it Renegade. Will I have to Renegade some things to get everyone loyal? I know I already pissed off the doctor over the Krogan thing when talking to him on the ship.

I played as a Paragon and kept everyone loyal.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

played about 10-15 hours so far and i like it but not as much as the first.
It seems like they stripped out alot of the character customizations and made it more of an action game than rpg.

question:
Is mining planets necessary?
I haven't figured out how to do it yet and it seems really boring.
will i be able to find enough minerals for upgrades during missions?

It is boring, but you won't be able to do even half the upgrades if you just use the minerals you find on missions. Although as you scan planets, you can skip the ones that scan "poor" or even "moderate" and just scan the "rich" ones where you'll be able to find more minerals quicker.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

You'll need to mine to upgrade your stuff. My advice would be to mine a 1/4 of the planet and if you don't find Element Zero leave. That's the one that's hardest to come by and is not on every planet.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Element Zero is rare but do you really even need that much of it compared to the others? I can't think of any big upgrades that require it. My 1st playthrough I had way too much left over and on my 2nd when I started off with 50k of it, I maybe used half of that.

ME 2 for the PC is one the few rare games that I can play and not get bored after few days. Very Impressed with it. Although staying up till 2am playing the game then having to get up @ 6am for work can be a little rough :)

He didn't have the option, or it was grayed out? If he didn't have the option, it might be a bugged mission. If it was grayed out, the problem with Zaeed's loyalty mission is you can access it really, really early, and if you didn't port a character over, you may not have enough good/bad stored up to convince him.

Yeah it was grayed. I ported my character over so I guess that is why my Paragon was high enough and I could use it. Good to know. I will stick with my Paragon ways then.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

This may have been answered before, but is there any way to see what stats the different makes of the same weapon give you? Or is the last option always the best?

I finally got to the point where I gave up using the Blood Dragon suit so I could see my character's face again... man, what a difference it makes.

I really hate the fact that I can't see my character's face either. Why not have an option to have a visor or helmet off?

I always picked to the last one since it seemed to default to it. Other than that I have no idea some of them had numbers next to them in the description I just went with the higher numbered one.
