And speaking of Cerberus Network, the fact that my wife doesn't have access to it on her gamertag (on the SAME 360) really, really suuuuuuuucks.
I also couldn't find him till I rebooted the game after downloading him. He is one of my favorite characters.

I agree it's so slow and my fingers get tired from holding down the left trigger. I did upgrade the scanner and it does go a little bit faster.

Yeah, me too. Here I was hoping maybe the minerals would have visual clues

I did just start the cusp of Act II

You have to use your Unity Skill. I don't think you can use the gel to simply heal yourself, though. Unity might work, but taking cover definitely does.

Really that stinks in the ME1 you could use it by pushing Y.

It's a different game than ME1

Instead of making the inventory/upgrade system more manageable, they streamlined it by lobotomizing it and practically removing them all together (along with no more dropped loot or XP gained from downed enemies). Instead of making the Mako or planet exploration fun, they just got rid of them. Don't like waiting for your gun to cool down? Now you can just reload! You don't even have to worry about your squad-mates anymore.

They kept saying, "we've addressed all of those complaints in ME2". And we all assumed they'd fix them, by tweaking or redesigning them. Nope, they just hit the delete button. Not cool BioWare, and kinda lazy. Still a great game overall, but in many ways, it doesn't feel like a succesor to ME so much as a replacement re-designed for broader appeal. Then again, I just barely started so I may be way off base.
I miss the Mako as well. Reloading sucks, too. I don't miss the dropped loot. I always had too much crap in the first game.

I could be wrong, but I think the percent completed is only if you've visited each planet. Not necessarily explored/mined it.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I guess we're not using spoilers in the thread anymore? I better be careful what I read.

Anyhow, I recruited the Professor, and Arch Angel, and did a bunch of mining. I also did a few side quests.

I just arrived at the Citadel, and I am not sure if Popcorn visited the Citadel from the first game by mistake, because the Citadel in this game is awesome

The advertisements, the Gamestop knockoff, the shops, the random conversations

"C-Sec thinks I am a risk."
"Yeah, they don't trust Krogans for some reason."
"Damn Turians. We should kill them all."

Ok, that was hard! I'm only playing on "Veteran" but I can't imagine I'd be able to hang well on Hardcore or Insane unless you get some serious help by importing the same character again.

I can complain about the minerals, or the lack of RPG upgrades elements, or a few other little things, but ultimately this game kicks fucking ass. I am loving every minute of it.

No, I don't think gameplay is very spoilery. Or the new resource system. Can you point out the spoiler?

No, I'm just starting what I assume is Act 2. The boss battle there was tough for me.

The only element zero I've found so far was what's laying around on the planet where the Normandy crashed. I don't think I've found any scanning yet.

only on paper. If you call and talk to someone, they ALWAYS fix it free. If its a red ring issue.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I found one planet with Element Zero..and got about 5000 of it...other planets, I find very small amounts in scanning, sometimes as little as 50-100...but it is there. I can't remember the planet I found the Zero on though...but I remember being excited.

Insertion of Disc 2 means it's time to save and go to bed

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

some tips for mining
Spoiler:
small planets are usually mineral rich. flying through asteroid belts can reveal dwarf planets that you didnt see before. I found several (small) planets that are rich in Element Zero, it is still my rarest resource but it shows up once in awhile. Try looking in the same nebula as Omega (an adjacent solar system) for Element Zero on a small planet (im guessing but im pretty sure).

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Only got to play for about two hours last night. Decided to take on Archangel... that was quite a nice surprise. Haven't finished the mission yet. I tried rushing the mercs during the "close the shutters" part of the mission, and, yeah... that didn't work.

I took a wild guess about Arch Angel and it turns out I was right. It just seemed to fit the profile

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Amazon emailed me my Inferno Armor code last night. I totally forgot about it. I wonder if it looks better or is better than the Blood Dragon armor?

At this point, I don't even think I'll use the Collector armor and weapon, so that and the Inferno may just go up on eBay
