Check out the list of Greatest Hits:

I thought Army of Two and Battlefield have been $20 for some time now?

How the heck is Uncharted (and Heavenly Sword, which I thankfully got cheap from Amazon anyway) not GH by now?

probably because they are selling just fine at full MSRP

Are people really buying them at MSRP still? Especially with Uncharted's sequel coming out soon?

musick 05-28-09 04:39 PM

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

don't know but I'm sure Sony does
If I were them I would not reduce MSRP on Uncharted .... there will be enough hype for the new one and it should sway people who did not pick up the first one to do so when they have a great experience with the new one

as for HS .... I would guess they think they won't sell 3 copies priced at 29.99 for every 1 they are selling at 59.99 right now

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

At this point, I figure Sony is going to hold out on a price drop on HS until God of War hits.

PS3 Hardware question...

I've searched around and haven't found a definite answer. My question is does the PS3 support multiple blue tooth remotes at the same time? It doesn't appear to from what I can tell but I may be missing something.

Anyone know?

I don't think it does... when I hooked up that Harmony adapter, I had to desync my sony remote. I think someone was similarly complaining about the lack of a way to sync up multiple bluetooth headsets, though I may be misremembering.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

Nope, just one remote per PS3. I thought about getting that Harmony adaptor, but decided that my current PS3 remote is servicable. Still don't get why they didn't include an IR port on the PS3 though. Hell. they built one into the original PSP, for God's sake!

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

I'm not doing it, but from the way the Harmony thing works I would guess you could use multiple Harmony remotes to talk to it's little device and that would work.

That's right, the Harmony device is basically an IR to bluetooth adapter, and there's nothing tying the remote to the device, so you can use any Harmony remote (and presumably any programmable remote, though I haven't tried).

I received my copies of Afrika (Hakuna Matata) and Aquanuts Holiday but I'm not certain that they sent me the copies that include English. Could someone please verify the UPCs of their copies that include English? Thanks!

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

You should be fine. I had the same doubts about my Aquanaut's because it mentions something about being intended for some other zone on the back. But it's all broken English all the time.

Raul3 05-29-09 04:13 PM

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

It's all in Korean, and it says FOR KOREA ONLY in the back, for both of them.

UPC codes:

Aquanaut's: 8 809083 645106
Afrika: 8 809083 645519

Thanks for your replies! Now I can bust them open as soon as I can put Infamous (which has become more fun) down.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

I got my Afrika and AH today as well.

First impressions:

Afrika is very cool right out of the gate. Everything is plenty intuitive, and the picture taking is fun thus far. I'd recommend this one to just about anyone, and if marketed right, I think it could do very well over here when it's released.

AH is off to a slow and kind of painful start. I can see some potential there, but man that story is brutal. I'd much rather they'd used the same picture taking interface that Afrika did. I can't recommend this one just yet, but maybe when it opens up a bit and I get out of the tutorials, I'll warm up to it. If you get it, be sure to look in options to increase the message speed.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

Yeah, I haven't come back to AH after playing for one hour. The story itself has potential, there's a secret hidden there... but then you go into the water and start getting bored.

Afrika is pretty cool, I couldn't stop playing it. I was going to test it for 30 minutes and ended up playing 2 hours.

How's the framerate on Afrika? I know the stills look great for it but wondering how it looks in motion.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

Looks fine. There's not a whole lot going on on the screen at a time. The scenery doesn't change, just some animals here and there. I doubt it's very taxing on the system which is why they can push the graphics further than most games.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition

AH gets better once you open up the area to explore. The part I was hating was more or less a tutorial and an intro to the story (such as it is).

I got my first camera upgrade on Afrika...such a cool game.

It's relatively solid much of the time, but can begin stuttering at seemingly random times. Like Michael said, there isn't a lot going on, so to me it's a little disappointing how "clunky" the game behaves; that label applies to the interface, too. I really wish they'd had the funds to license a better engine, something like the one FarCry 2 uses. Still, they're minor complaints and it's a very enjoyable game.

Just got an issue of PSM today... I see they finally got rid of the free Qore episode downloads. I wonder if Qore subs jumped up because of this... hahaha. Seriously, does anyone pay for Qore?
