Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Well it's Tuesday again. After catching the Hangover II last night I have the urge to use much more colorful phrases in my Tuesday address but I'll refrain.

In lieu of all that... who's up for some Battlefield tonight?

Maybe if we alternate weeks between Warhawk and Battlefield we'll be able to spark more interest in Warhawk. It makes sense in my head anyway. Still, turnout has been limited to four or five (at best) people. And any new guy that turns up in the middle of me, Nic and Slider probably doesn't get a good taste of what the game is supposed to be.

So for today: Warhawk Tuesday Goes Battlefield. All you motherbleepers who aren't showing up for Warhawk better show up for some motherbleeping dunebuggies.

Dunebuggies mother fuckers...I encountered them for the first time last night...Nic can't drive any better in BFBC2 than Warhawk.

I've convinced myself that getting everyone to play together again on ANY game will increase interest in getting everyone to play together in Warhawk again. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it.

It's all good.

Truth is, I'm not sure it was ever going to be the same without Chew anyway.

Yeah. It really hasn't been the same. That's not to say that we haven't had fun but the douchebaggery has ramped up without his calming presence.

yeah, i hadn't been playing with you guys as frequent before we lost Chew, but he and Friz were kinda our moral centers in different ways. Chew was the parent that you scaled back you douche-baggery in front of because you didnt want to disappoint him, and Friz is the parent you pushed your douche-baggery just far enough to make him flip out.

with out them, it is really just a pile of douche. Which amazes me, because we play COD with most of the same people and the douchiness isn't as pronounced as it is in warhawk...

I knew I was doing well if I was pissing off chess
If anything our douchebaggery has increased playing together.
I didn't think that was possible for nic and slider.

I like that theory I've been trying to get a couple of coworkers into Warhawk/BFBC2/CoD. mobilus may pick up Warhawk and CoD now that he has had a taste of private matches in Battlefield. I almost had another but it trns out he doesn't do online multiplayer. (I have to work on him)
I haven't been Warhawking much lately because Tuesday seems like a go to night for the wife and I (mainly the wife) to make plans to be social and go out. Let's face it I gotta keep the wife happy.

True he seamlessly linked all of us through all the games. I had thought about deleting him from my friend list but I decided to leave him on there forever.

That's because our games are made from douche. (grenades only on nuketown, handguns and headshots, flamethrowers and nova gas, etc)

Very well put.

CoD is already douchey and fast paced. if anything we put restraints on it to keep it fun, but Don't kid yourself.... the douchines is still there. Check out the replay of me and Slider crappin on each other in the sniper match on Stockpile. total douchefest.

i actually think it is the Warhawks themselves add to the douche too.
It is weird though, because there is no doubt that you guys are all better than me in both COD and BFBC, but it doesn't always feel like it.
It ALWAYS feels like it in Warhawk...

We were also the only two who were always there...and I almost always brought 2-3 friends. FWIW, I'm really not like that in any other game. I just always felt some obligation to moderate and keep the game fun/balanced.

Warhawk is a lot bigger in scale and a little bit more of a playground...lends itself to finding nic on mountaintops nowhere near the action or Slider getting 2 kills in a 20 minute map, both with binoculars.

The main douche problem is that when it's mainly just me, Nic and Slider there's really no point in regulating. We're all good enough and douchey enough to respond in our own ways. Nobody gets angry, they just get binoculars or a TOW. And that's all well and good because we're not insulating any new guys or worrying about running up the score... because let's face it, CTF is secondary to screwing around when the numbers are so small. So when someone like Cruz or R2 show up for a few rounds, we don't temper our shenanigans because, well, it's Cruz or R2. If we ever got decent numbers again I'm sure we'd play within the original spirit of our Warhawk games. Even Slider. But we haven't had more than 5 people on at any given time for more than a month.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Also, all that said... we need to take stock of our numbers. I'd like a legit game of Warhawk to break out this Tuesday, but it seemed like everyone had more fun with the robust numbers of BFBC2. Sigh. And awesome at the same time. If we can get a couple non-regular commits to Warhawk I'll load the small maps again and we can have it. But again, I'm not going to load Warhawk to sit there and binocular spar with Nic and Slider for two hours.

By the way, if you haven't played with us this last month you've been missing out on some spectacular maps -- small, chaotic and completely different -- that we hadn't messed with before because the greater numbers just wouldn't allow it.

Can I get a roll call?

Or are we playing BFBC2 again?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I should be down for whatever. And I never expect you guys to "temper the shenanigans" on account of me. I accept that I am just not that good at Warhawk but that is my own fault. Mobilus was asking if we were playing BFBC2 or Warhawk. He tried the Warhawk demo and hated it. I told him that pub Warhawk matches are filled with the worst douchebags ever - private matches are far more bearable.

Nah, Cruz. We give you the full treatment.

Here's a thought. What if I run a series of abbreviated Warhawk maps starting at 8:30pm EST? We'll do short games on a bunch of crazy maps and then roll on over into Battlefield at 10pm. I'd really like to keep some kind of Warhawk game going... even if we have to adapt.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I can start playing whatever you guys are playing at around 9-9:30. I would like to roll some private BFBC2 as that public match last night sucked as my team sucked and it is no fun getting knifed by Slider and Flip when we are just getting steam rolled. Could not ever get on your team, so doomed to be the whipping boys.

I'm thinking 6-8 assorted Warhawk maps and then some private BF.

The funny thing about that BF game last night was that your team absotively destroyed us the game prior. The helicopter douchebags just weren't useful on the snow maps. Nic, R2 and I were going to jump ship but decided to hang around for the snow map because I didn't think there were helicopters. Oops. We won anyway.

Don't forget that for the BFBC2 Private matches to work we need to have a minimum of eight players. I can host the private match again if needed. I should be on around 9ish.

Leveraging BC2 to get people to play Warhawk.

Well played...and kind of ironic...and definitely sad.
