Picked up Ratchet and Clank for $15, I noticed that they also had Rock Band 2 on the PS3 for $10. Thanks for the thread, wouldn't have known to look for clearance games there.

Definitely takes some of the sting out of paying for the DLC as well, though Big Surf is worth every penny.

Picked up L4D for $13 & GT5 for $10 this past weekend. Then I went home and put them on the shelf with the other 17 unopened games

I guess the only good thing is that I haven't spent more than $25 on any new games in the past 6 months or so

Picked up Tomb Raider: Underworld for PS3 for 20 dollars. It sucks that the clearance prices vary as I've heard that others have picked up this same title for less.

DO they ever vary, the Target i just went to had some games still marked up at 41.98 on clearance, the best deal was FEAR 2 for 12.98. The other one I considered briefly was PS3 Endwar for $44, which included the BT head set...but I passed.

I talked to the dude though - they mark things down on MOnday and it's totally random he said. Nothing to do with new releases. Whack.

Yes L&O every Target's clearance prices vary based on sales and On Hand Quantities and also buying habits at that store some stores the clearance get bought out at the first markdown and they don't have to be as aggressive and some stores no one buys anything until it's at least half so they have to price accordingly. The only constant is electronics is always marked down on mondays unless the people that do it are behind there work. So it always good to have a game scanned to check the price because the markdowns are automatic but putting the tickets on is not.

Totally possible.

Those are usually the best. Sometimes things will be in the case, won't even have a clearance sticker at all, but will be drastically reduced when rung up. Those are usually the only clearance items I find at Targets. My area tends to be picked clean by the time anything hits 25% off.

Definitely. I never saw a copy of Left 4 Dead outside the glass case, yet they were all on clearance (old version, not Game of the Year) well below their marked price ($12.98, I believe).

yeah, mine had GH:WT for 28, but i was at one the other week that had GH3 for $8 - all ps3.

Micheal is right games in the case are usually only there because there wasn't anything regular price to put in the case (they don't like holes in the case) so they could be cheaper although a little unlikely because after the first markdown they usually end up leaving the case. You are right ps3 doesn't get as much clearance love. But I have noticed that they go on clearance more in waves so after all the clearance is gone they markdown another batch.

YMMV. It's $41.98 for me. Patiently waiting on that one...

My local store had the PS3 version of Guitar Hero: World Tour (game only) for $14.98. Since I already had the guitar controller from GHIII, I picked this up. World Tour is far easier to get into than Legends of Rock, especially for someone like me who just wants to play and enjoy the music versus trying to master it all in a weekend.

I was able to get FEAR2 and Left for Dead for $12.48....nice deals.

I found the last copy of Prince of Persia for the 360 for $15 at my local Target on Sunday.

It (360 version) was $15 on Amazon this morning and the retail price is now $39.99 (Funny cuz it's $42 on clearance here too.)

When I picked up Ratchet and Clank last week, it was in the case showing $14.98, but it actually still rang up $30. So, I would watch out for that too.
