I think my neighbor would also have to order them.
I asked the woman on the phone if I could order with a different credit card linked to my apartment in NYC, and she said no. She said that any address linked to my name or on my account is banned. (That is until they get their money back or their product back. Of course, they won't tell me who that person is that did the chargeback to PROTECT THEIR IDENTITY.) |

With ebay, if the deal seems too good to be true......
And I know how you feel. Four years ago I signed up for a trial membership to Gamefly. I cancelled and returned my two discs. They claim to have never gotten them back and have permabanned me. I'm not even allowed to buy preplayed games from them; they'll cancel any order I place with them. I'm persona nongrata and it sucks. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Well, spoke with Paypal and Zappos, and Zappos has reinstated me after I explained the situation further. I asked if I could send them all the receipts and shipping evidence and the xbox confirmation of redeeming the card so that they could nail that guy (for defrauding them and the credit card company), but they said no.
As for the ebay deal itself, the guy was selling at a small discount from the normal price. The great part about it was the BING cashback of 30% which is where I saved all my money. I guess I could have gone with someone else, I had just gone with the cheapest BIN. Turns out he was using me to scam Zappos. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I bought Mercs 2 on ebay from someone at a good price about a month after the game was released. I received a brand new game shipped via two-day air from Game Stop with an invoice of like $25 more than I paid. I called Game Stop CS and emailed ebay as well telling them that it had to be a scam and somebody is defrauding Game Stop and the credit card company, but nobody seemed to care so after a couple of weeks I opened the game and started to play. Never heard anything since, but somebody ripped off the man and apparently got away with it.
What killed me is I was left with no choice but to give him a positive feedback. Before I placed it (and he kept emailing me bugging me to give feedback), I sent him a message that I was reluctant to give positive feedback because I thought he was a crook (basically). He gave some sort of BS explanation that was basically that he thought he could get it cheaper, then the supplier backed out, so to keep up the deal, he ate the rest of the cost. I knew that was total BS, but I couldn't prove it so I ended up giving some tepid, half-hearted positive feedback. |

They were right to do so, because if they never got them back, you must have stolen them.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Postal workers stealing rental discs in the mail is actually pretty rampant - though it happens more with Netflix discs, but it happens with Gamefly too. It's mostly because these mailings can't be tracked the same way as packages from places like amazon can.
Also, that dude snagged like over 2,000 discs - it must be easy peasy to get away with it if you just grab a couple here and there. |

Has anybody here put up a RROD unit on Craigslist or ebay, etc...? Mine just bricked and I ended up buying one off of a friend who never used his. I remember people saying that you could sell them to people for whatever reason. I was wondering how safe it was (i am keeping the original HDD)

Free Movie Pack I don't care too much about this movie but was planning on buying some points for The Beatles this week, anyway--so sure, I'll take a free movie ticket. What the hell. I was looking forward to the movie, so free even better. I was going to buy a points card for the sale on Shadow Complex next week anyway. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Cool thanks, I was planning on seeing Holmes too.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Sweet, I'll buy two and treat my friend to a "free" movie we were planning to see together anyway  Thanks!
Think it'll work at the Warren theater in Moore? |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Just bought a second system 360 for system link play but having some network issues. Plugged both into my router and tried GOW2 and Borderlands. With both games i could create a system link game and the other system would see the other system and player id. Unfortunately, when i would go to start the game i would get a " Host disconnect error."
Just to isolate the problem i grabbed a rj45 cable and connected both systems to each other and it worked right away. Now I know it is a router issue, any ideas? |

I used the MovieCash from a very similar promotion that BB had earlier this year to see Watchmen at The Warren, actually. The MovieCash was good for $8 each or something and I wanted the more-expensive balcony seats. Was just gonna pay the difference but then the cashier fucked something up and just gave me the balcony tickets for free. It was the great movie experience ever. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Kick ass! You know I'm getting up in the balcony for this. Went there for the first time over thanksgiving. It's good for my wallet I don't live there anymore because I would see so many movies just to be there. Best theater I've ever been to.

Here's some info on NAT settings: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/u...egory=xboxlive What brand/model router do you have? Are you connecting wirelessly? |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I,m using a Buffalo 54 hp router running DD-WRT. Its weird that it sees the other system bust just disconnects. Guess I will have to play with the NAT settings grr

You do know, dont you, that MS is repairing RROD units free right? As long as you didnt crack open the shell yourself. YES even though the warranty says its expired, they still honor it.
