Got my "Congratulations! Xbox LIVE Rewards Start Here!" email this evening.

Looks like the "rewards" are 100 MP for each survey. Everytime I purchase something on Live I'll get a survey email to fill out. By staying a gold member throughout this promotion (6 months) I can earn up to 5% (1% after 1 month, etc) off of Live purchases.

If this works per song on RB, it should work out alright.

I can admit besides Texas, the Big 12 is definitely down this year. But how in the world are you gonna tell me Clemson, FSU and Boston College? Clemson is your #3? ACC hasn't come close to placing a team in the Championship game since...Miami in '02? Was Miami even part of the ACC in '02?

This will be my last post on college sports in this thread, so we can all get back to talking about who has the best deal on points.

Anyway, Clemson was my fourth team (Miami, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech were all ahead of it). And why not? It gets votes in the AP poll every week -- I think right now it's ranked 30, which is better than most of the teams in the NCAA.

More to the point, I didn't say the ACC was the best football division. I simply said that the ACC wasn't a basketball-only school. And it's not. Every season, it consistently places 3 or 4 teams in the Top 25. To me, that means it's a solid division.

Miami didn't join the ACC until 2004. And while they haven't been in the championship since they joined the ACC, they are still one of the most consistently solid teams in the NCAA. Not the best, or the second best, but in the top 5% of the NCAA.

Pro Sports > College Sports!

Can I just move my hard drive from the Elite to the Arcade, back and forth, and be able to play with my gamertag without issue? Or do I still need a memory card. I don't plan to play on both consoles at the same time.

Yeah you can do that, but you need to make sure the one you don't buy all your content on is connected to the internet because you'll have to be signed into XBL to access it.

Yeah, I plan to have both of them connected to the internet. Just recently got a refurbished wireless gaming adapter, so that should be plugged to the Arcade.

Well I have a serious issue I'm guessing. I turned on my 360 and was greeted with "you need an update" to which I clicked OK for. My console locked up right as the update screen popped up. It's been 10min now and it's still frozen on the "do not turn off your console" screen. Now do I just leave it like this forever and let it suck down the electricity or do I reboot it and get what I'm sure will be the red ring? Oh, decisions, decisions...

Of course I think I just bypassed the extended warranty period so is this Microsofts way of getting me to upgrade again?

I ended up having to pull the plug as it wouldn't power down any other way. It rebooted fine but locked up in the same spot the 2nd time around too. Pulled the plug again and for some reason the 3rd time was the charm. It took the update just fine. Weird I guess.

If it glitches out again, at least you know where your nearest Wal-Mart is.

I lined up about an hour in advance a couple of years ago at a WalMart to buy a $99 HD-DVD. It took so long to get to checkout that I had to leave without picking one up. That should have been a good thing but I still ended up buying an HD-DVD drive at Best Buy anyway, so I guess I ended up getting screwed twice. Anyway, these special holiday deals are a total zoo. Price match instead if you can.

Some pretty amusing comments about the format, considering what happened shortly thereafter.

Don't have time to look all the way through it, but as it turned out, I had to leave for work before I got to the front of that horrible line. Who could hook me up? GatorDeb, who was in the line with me (I sometimes run into her at super-sales). She picked up a unit for me and brought it overto my office that afternoon. Really nice of her. Then, of course I broke the opical output while trying to set the unit up, and then returned it back to WallyWorld for a refund.
